At present rewriting MRP so that the user has a selection for the clean start menu/taskbar. So you can have just the Start Menu cleaned up, just the taskbar without start menu and the combined version as it used to be... It may all go wrong and have to revert back but will see...
There has been a major re-write to cover the new Start Menu/TaskBar options Took ages to sort the Creator out... MRP code was a mess but i think i have managed to get it to be logical and if you not use the new creator ie before v60 then the old start menu option in the list will set the new internal option in MRP 156+ to be 'Both" so it acts like it used to before the changes -- i hope! I will do some tests tomorrow as i am reaching my own cut off time on the PC soon so i not overdo things. The creator seems to function ok with the new option parameters. I could upload this MRP test but i prefer to make sure it works before i upload, in a MRP155 beta test i made that mistake and it crashed.
For the moment i have uploaded the creator for beta testing to make sure it not crash out or not set the new option. Its on the [w1x tab2] in its own selector box. Tested saving each part and reloading to make sure its set properly. Note its not compatible with current mrp test or 155 base line as those decompiles will ignore the new option. Tomorrow i will run a test of mrp 156 beta to make sure all ok then once happy it working i will upload the next beta.

It will work but the start menu and taskbar part wont operate as intended as bt2 and before not have the new split code in place. The start menu will be clean but the taskbar may not be clean, or show some icons like explorer still.
I have tried to make it sort of backwards compatible but i cannot guarantee it as the new split code uses slightly different methods from what was used before. Plus the new method for taskbar may only work for the main user and not any new ones created.
Testing BT3 Had one strange effect on my first install (w10) the start menu and taskbar was not 'slimmed' as i forgot to remove a test flag So sorted that and testing another install with Start menu only selected... If ok will test with Taskbar only then Combined/both selected. I tested the routine logic code as a stand alone script and it now appears to respond as expected in that test environment, now testing via a install... Windows 10: Start Menu Only: Ok 'Start menu only' appears to work only the usual tile/app suspects are in the menu and the taskbar not touched --- only search and explorer icons shown as i unpinned store/mail etc via their options. Taskbar Only: Interesting it sort of worked was left with just explorer and search icon... At least now if you unpin the explorer icon it not return on a reboot. But i got a fast fail error on the reboot for explorer again. The OS certainly not like you messing with the task bar! Also noticed it was on the preparing windows with spinning dots for ages then as soon as desktop appears MRP had already finished!! There was no summary screen as usual and no errors in the logs or missing sections... I will say it a success but YMMV as they say. Remember this 'Taskbar Only' option is work in progress and may need a few refinements as times goes on. Now onto the Both/Combined test... More work needs to be done... I think the slim taskbar code isnt working under oobe I know the default setting on the option works and no changes made to Start or Taskbar -- unless you selected other options to remove apps, store etc... Will upload BT3 and BT4 for the beta testers -- bt4 has a slight change to the combined one , be prepared for odd things At least it not crash , just some strange effects and delays... Need more work on this.... I have ran out of time today
I can create a standalone script to clean the taskbar which i know works when manually run. Thats just for the current user only as it not suitable for all users as it crashes the explorer shell. The alternative one im going to try for the taskbar should cover any user.
Tweaked the slim taskbar code more and i think i got at least better results Uploaded 156 BT5 for beta testers Explorer icon still appears on the Taskbar but after a restart of explorer.exe process or a sign out/in // restart then the explorer icon vanishes. Have tested all options for the start menu/taskbar on w10 and taskbar only on w11. But i am guessing all will be ok. The log states what option was used now.

Hmm i see explorer on taskbar, i only tested taskbar only on my w11 install. I will restest tomorrow the combined/both option.
MRP 156 BT6 uploaded for beta testers. Hopefully fixed the weird issue with w10 both/combined slimmer start menu etc option... Have tested this for w10 and w11 both operated as expected. With win 11, hopefully the start menu wont open automatically after install or for a new created user.... Experimental. Thanks to @bundyal for the heads up on that. On W11 start menu there is two default icons when using the slim start menu options, these are Settings and Explorer, this is to prevent m$ auto filling the menu with random icons. Sadly i cannot clear/remove the recommended section.
