Have tidied up mrp code now that the slim selections are working as intended. Took out redundant code too.

Updated the creator to give clearer descriptions for the start menu and taskbar tooltips plus the ini data for them.

Mrp 156 bt7 uploaded for beta testers.

MRP 156 BT8 uploaded for beta testers.

Added more secure boot info to the OSINF log section to show if any mitigations or revocations added to the OS (or BIOS) , win10 and w11 only - experimental and may not always show anything as the revocations may be done before the OS has started installation and the registry data removed/cleared so the info may not be present later.

Updated creator v60-RC4 to be hopefully more DPI aware, this too is experimental and may not work as intended as i not currently have a 4K or high DPI screen to test if this adjusts anything, technically it should but i am only guessing. If this change does not make any difference then i will remove that test code on RC5.

Have left the original RC4 creator in the beta test archive to compare results.

Uploaded 156 BT9 for beta testers - slight update to code so that the 'Disable the titlebar's accent color' on taskbar/start is working again on w11, plus it could/should remove the blur behind (when a graphics driver is installed).

Added more remove adverts on Settings app etc when the remove telemetry option is used - it may not remove/disable all adverts as this code is new to me.

Something new added to the GUI Query Tool :) -- Only just added in so testing to see if the CPU feature set is decoded correctly, plus hopefully you can see if POPCNT is available, not tested on AMD yet as my Ryzen 3 pc is in bits for a dust clean up.

On the text versions it may look a bit untidy but in the GUI it looks neat :D - Need to find a way to tidy the saved text version. But at least it hopefully shows the feature list, i may need to adjust the code for SSE4.2M on AMD systems...

    Code:

Uploaded for beta testers, then once it all ok and working i may release this as a beta test on post #3 of this thread. :)

On next GUI QT i may add in the DPI Aware code - but still not sure if it works on the Creator yet :D

Im sure most cpus of intel and amd will have popcnt as i have read that feature been in them for many years.

As far as i have read that will be a possible requirement for win12 something about ai stuff.

Im sure i have read that a cpu without popcnt or the sse4.2 set causes some pcs to not boot with the latest cu, i could be wrong and it on recent insider builds.

Even some games have failed to work with some feature set missing.

At least the feature set can be listed now in the gui qt.

And that query of mine was done under Windows 7, so, it should work everywhere.

Small proposal, if VM is detected you should issue a warning that not all of the CPU features might be exposed to the VM.

At present i not have any win7 devices in a running state but i was semi confident that the CPU feature set should show ok on any os below w10.

As for the VM notification about not all data is present when a virtual machine is detected is already in the QT...

'On Hypervisors some results may be missing due to being being undefined within the VM's configuration file{s}.' should be shown.

i will check to see if it on the CPU section , and add it if i can squeeze it in, as i know it on the DMI and storage sections... I could have a msgbox appear but felt more pop ups would be tiresome.

Just checked GUI QT code and the hypervisor part had a missing check for below windows 8.x as the 'usual' test hypervisor flag in WMIc is not present in win7 and below, i had however added other checks but forgot to use the result to tell QT to use the flag.

Hopefully corrected that now for RC7 so if the WMIc flag cannot be used it will use the alternative flag instead, this only covers VmWare and VBox at present and i may extend it to cover the other hypervisors later on.

Have adjusted code in the QT to now cover the majority of used hypervisors, M$ HyperV, variants of VPC200x etc, VBox, VMware, QEMU and XEN.

Uploaded MRP 156 BT10 for beta testers :)

Nothing major this time, mainly text changes in the log(s) and some descriptions in the Creator updated.

A friend passed away suddenly recently, to whom i am the god parent to his children, so this has set me back a bit working on the project, plus as within the past month he had a heart stent put in and the coroner thinks it may of twisted or otherwise went faulty, this is making me a bit nervous as i may have to have a stent put in later or at worse case a bypass...

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend passing away suddenly like that. Losing someone close, especially when it's unexpected, is just gut-wrenching. And on top of that, having to step into that godparent role for his kids...that's a huge responsibility to take on, emotionally and practically.

Be good to yourself during this hard time. Lean on your other friends and family. And if the project needs to be on the backburner for a bit while you recalibrate, so be it. The most important thing is taking care of your mental and physical health first.

    Warm Regards
