GUI QT -- I thought some graphical glitches may appear as some text overflows the designated spaces. Just sorted the Secure Boot revocation section, i forgot about the 64bit redirect on/off switch just for that part so on 64bit OS's it would return UNKNOWN for the UEFI test therefore negating the data results
Puzzles me that when you buy a gaming rig that they can supply it with a Core/Home edition Windows license, talk about cutting corners! You would of thought after all the cash being spent you get at least a Professional license, as with the Core versions you could be immersed in a game and the device decides to just do a WU operation and restart! Plus all the bloatware of those apps and games such as Candy Crush.
If you buy it for Gaming is there any real difference between Home and Pro? I think most manufacturer's would offer Home as default but give you upgrade options with both hardware and software. Totally agree about the bloat. If I wanted Candy Crush I'd download it myself...
As m$ like multiple editions why not a 'Gaming' one - a OS like LTSC (the older versions not these newer ones with bloat sneaked in). No crap and less resource hogging stuff in the background.
Well I think we'd all want that, whether gaming or not. So many apps/games these days seem to be so bloated...
GUI QT v1.03-RC14 Uploaded for Beta testers Fixed: Better WMIC.exe non detection, will show msg and attempt to use alternative WMI routines to obtain the information required. Fixed: Secure Boot Revocation/Certificates not showing - 64 Redirect required for that routine to be operative on 64 OS's. That's why I said "BEFORE setting up properly". Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC coming up. That laptop, inside my budget, didn't have an option for anything else as Win11Home, this time. Last time(s), there was the option to buy it without OS* and save a few bucks. *Technically, it came with Linux, as it is not allowed to sell OEM systems without OS, here.
The asus laptop that was bought for the nhs exam centre has w11 home on it, although I have blocked wu on it for the time being as it tried to reboot mid exam. Took me a while to remove the games and other non required stuff as some took a few attempts to budge.
When we had a lot of laptops for the school I worked for they was bought without an os, that saved quite a bit of money enough to buy 2 extra laptops as spares. We had 42 in total at that time in 2011. Took me 2 weeks to clear the crap off that the students managed to install on them when summer term break arrived.

I'm guessing the secure boot certificates etc? I will recheck the routine but I'm sure I fixed it. On my asus mb on the test pc it didn't show any certs, I updated bios which was several versions newer for the old board and then I got the certs showing. It is a very sensitive routine in that it can throw its dummy out at any time.
The routine uses powershell to dump the uefi database as a binary type file then some simple find string commands to look for specific names. Sometimes either the dbase not get dumped properly or the find part gets mixed up and ignores the results. Apparently there is now two databases that can be used, one .db the other is .dbx this latter one I will have to add a 2nd cert check for that one if the first fails. Will hopefully have that sorted later today.
I'm sure your laptop should have the latest 2023 certificate. I have only seen a msi 2023 certificate so far but I know there is one for asus too as it is mentioned in the ms docs I read.
My main pc with a asus board that has latest 2024 bios not show any new certs only the soon expiring 2011 one.
Platform Key (PK) Key Exchange Key (KEK) Whitelist Database (DB) Blacklist Database (DBX) Plus a 509 key. Complicated .dbx is black listed ones so I might skip that as only white listed work.
Uploaded to the beta test area ueficert.cmd a simple script that exports the database then does find checks to show results... example when run: Code: Checking for UEFI Secure Boot Certification and DBX Revocation fix... UEFI Certification{s} : [CA_2011 PCA_2011 Asus_SW_MB] S/Boot DBX Revocation : [Grub patch applied for Canonical Linux]

Uploaded gui qt 1.03 rc15 with updated uefi certification information that includes the blacklisted or revoked certificates, this part is experimental and at moment seems to have no detected items yet. Have noticed that the latest vmware workstation v17 has the new 2023 boothole certificate in the uefi bios. Some newer msi and asus computers have it in the bios too, but not all. It may be a bios update or a windows update that adds the uefi certificate in the bios depending on the age of the device I guess. It seems the 'fix' is being rolled out slowly as if incorrectly integrated it can cause the installed os to cease booting. Plus all previous backup images are invalid once the uefi bios patch has been applied so a new backup image is required once all patches have been successfully integrated. From what I have read the may's cu has the os patch in but is disabled by default if no bios patch detected. This is for Windows 10 and 11. Linux has its own grub2 fix for this boothole fiasco as it all stems from the grub's plain text configuration file! This grub vulnerability also affects windows too , this is why all the bother about it. Luckily it has not been exploited as such yet, but give it time as it quite a complicated fix to apply.
