I thought your new laptop should have the 2023 boothole certificate. :)

The text overflow is just on that section?

I think it's because I have a set flag of 50 characters but it must of got confused depending on the dpi or font changes. Will look into that area and adjust the block length to show something like .... when extends past the flag. The saved text log won't be affected.

You are not allowing to resize the window. Is that because AutoIt!3 doesn't handle flowing text well?

The issues are also in other sections, but minor. I can take RC15 and check all sections, if you like.

Autoit has a rigid gui design in that by default it is x,y,z , you are free to write #include routines to expand designs etc but you need to know the ins and outs of gui design which sadly I not know. So I am stuck with a simple design.

I had tried to use scroll bars so the gui was adjustable but it went pear shaped very quickly.

I should of learnt vb net but it felt too much like powershell and with my memory issues it not easy to learn a whole new programming language.

I had a lot of help by one of the autoit forum members but sadly he passed away last year, he was instrumental with the tabbing system used in the gui, he was a good teacher as the gui qt expanded rapidly with his help and guidance.

It's stagnated at the moment, as I try to work out how to update sections of the gui.

Regarding the text overflow, i think i may have a solution of sorts :)

The GUI QT is DpiAware - however when the scale is changed from 100% it not return the value ie 125/150 etc back to the dll call that is used to detect the dpi.

I found a routine that someone created to get that returned value, i have tested with 125% and 150% (which the 150% looked horrible on my setup) and i have adjusted the font size to hopefully look at least readable. It will only work correctly on windows 10 and 11+ as when they tested on win 8.x it crashed the Autoit interpreter.

The way it works only detects the first monitor. Once i can understand how it works i will see if i can check for which monitor it is on.

If the dpi scaling is set higher than 125% (max of 130%) the GUI QT will just give a msg that it cannot run in that resolution/scaling , this is due to the limitations of myself at the moment.

At least progress is being made :)

I will upload RC16 for beta testers shortly.

The dpi routine is ok for 125% but 150% the gui goes to the save only mode.

At 150% it not reliable enough so had to put a limit on that until I can see if It's possible to make it look OK.

I think it will detect the current monitor it's run on but I'm still working out how it works.

I have uploaded it for beta testers. Forgot to post that earlier as had some bad news which took my time I had spare this morning.

Yeah that laptop was set to 125%, I did not see that nor did I assume, that an FHD display needs mote than 100% (96dpi).

I'm using 100% on UHD (3840*2160) here. It all depends on how big the actual screen is, and has nothing to do with resolution.
31.5" with UHD can run on 100% fine, but an 8" FHD one might require upscaling.

Hope the news weren't the really bad ones.

Sadly it was a friends mother, she passed away in hospital early this morning. We only visited her Sunday and no indication of anything wrong.

It was my ex wife's cousins mom so I was related by marriage years ago but I was still in contact with the family.

I will try to sort the dpi for 150%+ but as my screen is only 1920×1080 I can't test 150 and above as it looks more like 1024×768 and horrible to look at more so on a 27" screen.

It may be ok on a higher resolution monitor like a 2k or 4k one as it won't trigger the 1024×768 virtual result.

That's very tragic and sad, sorry for the loss. Maybe you should take a bit off from coding for coming down and refreshing the batteries, so to speak.
I don't have any problem with waiting a few days, there's no need to rush anything MRP.
