MRP158 RC2 uploaded for beta testers:)

Fixed a few spelling mistakes in the creator and .ini file which I discovered this morning.

Added more debug log info where needed.

App removal could take a little while longer to complete as more checks added to prevent other dependencies being removed.

Addon manager might add a few seconds here and there around the licence/activation checks but that may just be on non wmic.exe os's as alternative routines will be used including the slower powershell.

The summary/change log for MRP 158 is getting quite extensive now, there has been a lot of updates and changes since v157.

Just need to complete a couple of w11 test installs then i can sign this code off for baseline release.

All being well the release of v158 will be tomorrow, or if i get time then it might even be later on today.

Please note that m$ has made a lot of changes since MRP157 more so in the win 11 builds so i cannot 100% guarantee that all the latest or updated options in MRP158 will be working as expected i have tried to keep up to date with recent changes where possible.

    Its finally here!

MRP158 Baseline has been uploaded, the 2nd post's download link, password and hashes have been updated. :)

The summary is quite long so not posting here as i think it over a post's character limit of the forum.

Basically a LOT has been fixed or updated etc.

A huge thanks to the beta testers who have put up with my many changes and uploads over the past couple of months. :hug2:

Yes gui tool still being 'perfected' it's at v1.04 now.

I will upload the latest gui qt tomorrow morning as it late here now.

The gui link must of not long expired as I checked if it was active the other day. Seems i must of deactivated the 'Here' link somehow..

I been working on it being dpi aware and so far it ok up to 125% scaling, at 150% it looks messy but as I not got a 2k or 4k screen I'm not able to guess it right.

V1.04 has a lot more added in that than the current uploaded one.

The asus user810 account picture looks nice now , also the desktop wallpaper looks clear too.

I tested it on my spare asus pc I use to test the win 11 options.

It may be that ai smartappcontrol and smartscreen , they can cause delays in opening or running things.

I think it could also be something in a window update as when a fresh install done on a iso that not have latest cu in I noticed it more snappier, then once updated it tended to go strange.

It could just be me being used to test installing that many I not have time to update and test as often.

With win11 I have noticed that sometimes after a fresh clean install it takes a couple of reboots to make the start menu and/ or taskbar items to be responsive.

When that happens I have to use the alt + F4 method and select restart from the old Shutdown way or it would be a press of reset button or hold power button to force a Shutdown.

It's not every time but it has happened a few times, I could be impatient and not of let the os 'settle' but surely the desktop ui should be fully initialised once setup completed?

I use openshell on my main daily intel pc, but that on w10 education.

On my other pc a ryzen 3 that is on w11 education I just use the w11 start menu. That's on 26100 version which I installed the other week as the older 22xxxx build was getting sluggish after all the battering it got with my testing of tweaks for mrp on it. :D

Smartappcontrol is ai driven and may not be 'on' if pc not compatible, but I found out if manually turned off it makes a difference along with defender's smartscren set as off.

It's all user preferences and it just my own observations, I not a fan of ai having control of my computer , I know its supposed to be the future but I am a creature of old fashioned habits which have served me well over the years and I not want a computer telling me what I can and cannot do just because it can or someone at ms thinking it be better than a humans decision making no matter if we make mistakes in those decisions , it's part of life not a computer algorithm!

  18. Is nice buts needs extra services. Tihy made SiB++/SaB using Hooks and his own DLLs. Is very prone and never failed me since Win 8-Beginning, when it arised. It's worth it, a cup of good but cheap coffee and is a lifetime-license, that can be moved easily.

  19. My Theme Patch and OldNewExplorer use DLL-Hooks, love those :). Patching happens in RAM, no files touched no services.
