Nope, think recovery partitions are a thing of the past unless using something like arconis software which is what I guess I will have to use. I like his recovery software but seems it is no use to me anymore. Spent two days so far trying with no success. Guess it time to give arconis a shot. Havent used it in years so I wonder how much it changed. Guess I will find out. lol
From what i have read about Acronis it has had quite a few changes. Never tried it for years too. I just backup whats needed and do a fresh install, pain at times reinstalling everything but i know if it fails its my own fault lol.. Its like System Restore, it can get you out of a bad situation at times, but usually that fails too - always when you need it the most!
Seems if using xml file to enter audit mode, that is what breaks oobe.cmd from running. I tried running manually in audit mode but of course it fails with error not in oobe mode. I wonder if audit mode (Administrator) could be allowed for it to run if it would work manually? Just curious. Going to give up on his project and use arconis because I want up and running and off the wifes lappy. lol To sum it up...audit mode breaks oobe.cmd from running. It becomes disabled.
I could add a switch parameter to Decompile.exe to allow it. Will have to test to make sure it works first... In theory if that works, then the project would do the branding side and then when system booted normally ie after audit mode been finished and set to reseal to oobe or whatever it called (cant remember now), it should then run the Add-On manager etc when the next stage is in progress... Will have to create a special version for you to test. Once i have completed MRP 58.0 testing i will create the special test one. -- Edit -- Well added a switch and tested in a VM ran the special version, it seems to have worked! Although you may get a couple of progress windows appear on the very first boot. A few odd errors but that may be because i tested in a already working OS as the files already existed. The log looked correct only one message about user-200.png does not exist but that i had expected.
The work around for win 8.1 to work with multi oem/retail project and the oem recovery project... -edit autounattend.xml and remove audit section and save. -once at first interaction screen hit ctrl/shift/f3. -branding will already be in place and you can now install what you wish.
I got win 8.1 to activate yesterday within audit mode which isnt suppose to be possible. I am trying to figure out exactly what caused it to work.
isnt windows fun can do things when you least expect it, usually a BSOD in my case (rare now as i not mess to much these days lol)
Win 8.1 is now activated within audit mode, again. Guess you need to give it some time after setting up network then manually enter key using slmgr. Now to start installing my apps then to capture image.
Hmm, never had problems with activating audit mode, but activation won't survive the sysprep/generalize .
I thought the same but it did yesterday and the mutli oem/retail project didnt even run. When I was at main desktop it was still activated, even after running a recovery so it was in the image or M$ auto will activate it if msdm key is found I guess.
Just doing the changelogs (gez they take ages to write? ) then tasks of uploading etc. Then the grand revealing of the updated versions of QTool and MRP...
The only reason I wanted to activate within audit mode is for lockscreen to take hold and stay. So far all is well again. Installing updates via wsus offline then to install some apps I wish.
Well its that time you probably been waiting for! MRP v58.0 and Query Tool v19.0 Baseline versions are now uploaded!! See changelog's for more details if you wish. Thanks to @s1ave77 for his ideas and help getting the scripts to work, also @Enthousiast for testing.
