Just a note: For those wishing to use MRP on Server 2012 (Not R2) the activation routine has a glitch, sorting that out now. So once that completed and working if those that need it PM/Convo me i will give link to a fixed decompile.exe.

Just reinstalling S2012 to see where it going off the rails, for all consumer OS's MRP will function normally, just this one server being a pain.

On S2012 - login background not change but that because it's Win 8.0 based and only a solid color allowed.

Grrrr now the oem recovery project doesnt work with win8.1...no tools copied over to make back media nor can I access the damn recovery that was created. Not a good day for me. I wish I still had v4.0.6 because that version worked. By the way multi oem login background doesnt work with recovery creation. Just a FYI. :( I am tired after three days doing this. Going to just install win8.1 and leave it at that. I am tired. :(

Know about being tired! Spend four solid days (and into early mornings), working on the project. If i see server 2008 R2 set up again i am gonna scream lol.

Working on 2012 (non R2), that grinding me, but got OEM activation sorted now. Just a few bits to tidy up.

I could of waited til the next release, but didn't want to have a partly broken project, I know a few people who use MRP for Servers now that it brands them, just wanted to make sure it would OEM activate the ones it can properly.

Yep, last test for Server 2012 went fast, skipped the key prompt, installed features and started nicely OEM activated, only needs a (actually double-reboot) to initialize the installed features.

FYI: On Server Net 3.5 install via Server Managers Feature Add requires a Reboot. Doing this via DISM seems to be instant like on consumer systems.

Also on Servers if you just shutdown and reboot, the Features do not always automatically add!

You MUST choose restart via the Server Manager, give a reason say Theme and let it reboot. You will see the progress of the features while it shuts down, then more on the reboot. Once you get to desktop, go to Personlize, choose your required theme. Job Done. :)

Servers are very fussy beasts, (they have to be), so MRP auto adjusts itself to now work on them.

Definitely won't miss fiddling with Servers, even the smallest, easiest task seems to last 10 times longer compared to a customer OS :cool2:.

I can see why they not designed to be reinstalled as often!

The shear amount of time setting it all up, i only just checked for features and branding/activation that as you said takes long enough to do alone. But now its virtually all automated for branding/ oem activation. It may not be 100% perfect but it a whole lot closer than before!

It's as far as you can even get with a Server OS. In case a user wants to use it like a desktop OS, it's up to them to install the rest of the needed roles and features.

Would say that having the default branding in place and a perfectly activated OEM:SLP system for 2008R2 and 2012, is not that bad :cool2:.

For the Dell wallpaper, could we get one that's better looking? Like this one for example. Wallpaper.jpg

The Wallpaper.jpg files can be changed by the end user, open the oem's.7z file with 7z/WinRAR etc, navigate to the brand folder you wish to change the image in, (Dell in this case), drag/drop your new wallpaper.jpg image and overwrite the default one.

For Windows Vista/7 the file size (not resolution size), must be within the limits of 256kb. Or Windows will ignore it and use its default image instead. MRP will put a note in the log file if the file size is greater than 256kb. As mentioned in a previous post, this is not a limitation of the project but the way Windows was hard coded with that limit for OS's below W8.0.

For Windows 8.x/10 the file size limit is i think 14mb although it is best to keep the Wallpaper.jpg file size below 2mb or it can cause the desktop longer to appear due to the extra processing needed to show the image.

A new MRP and Query Tool will be released shortly.

Found a little glitch that on some brands it could crash out the branding script, only on Windows Vista/7, MRP would still carry on but no branding or Vista/7 activation would take place.

Have fixed that and a few other bits that could of caused some strange things to happen.

It was oddly enough one of the error checking routines that had the error in!

Also added new Fujitsu wallpaper, looks better than the original one that looked rather grainy on hi-res or bright displays. Dell wallpapers have been changed for something less boring too :p.

Just compiling everything and will post when it all ready to download. :)
