One idea for a potential addition to the Creator functionality: When loading an older INI made by a previous version, check which entries do not exist yet in it and then highlight them in the GUI somehow. That way, you can quickly spot what's new option-wise, and update your INI accordingly. Unfortunately, there are quite a few options here and it can get confusing. The INI already records the version it has been made with, so, it should be somehow doable. Low-priority, of course.
Good idea, something like a marker, or highlight type of indication. I never thought the creator would have as many options!
At some point I will need to remove a few old options that are no longer relevant once mrp concentrates on newest os's such as w1x. This may start from v160, it all depends on when the 'managed move' is in operation and I am settled in a new home. One good thing is I now have paper confirmation of my health issues so the housing association can no longer use stalling tactics.
The programs I know doing this make the new options in bold text. But, since it usually changes the width of the text, it might blow the description of these options out of proportion. Maybe a different text color like blue or green works better. Not a problem, just let us know, so I can stop updating the MRP version I use for my updated Windows 7 ISOs.
Bold does tend to make the alignment go off, so I'm thinking of either a text color change or a highlighter effect. It depends which is more practical. Once I get sorted and can get my main pc out of storage, I can settle in to rewriting mrp without the older os parts in , will be a task but I will be in a better frame of mind to get some serious work done. Will take a while and there will most likely be several betas of the 'slimmed' mrp alongside the normal 'full all os's' version.
I'm at flat at moment awaiting a visit from the housing team from the association who I rent from. I've been here less than 15 minutes and my eyes are stinging and can feel my chest hurting. I really hate this s**t hole.
Here is a couple of pics of the state of the place. There is a lot worse! Pictures taken in November 2024 before the housing started to take notice.
They sent a guy out to clean the windows in late November 2024. But the mould is already starting to come back. The main issue I have with the housing is there is no communication between any department unless I have to ask and speak to someone. Then you wait a few days , no reply etc so you ring again to find out the person you spoke to a few days ago no longer works there!! Turnover of staff there is quite alarming.
Sorry off topic but at least it shows why it's taken a while to get mrp v159 out etc. Not being able to live in a property you pay rent on and then have to pay again to stop at hotels etc when you run out of places and friends to stop at. Using a laptop to try and keep the project's upto date etc is a challenge too.
Mr H you certainly been hammering that poor hp laptop Bad as me when I get to test install, killed 2 ssds and 6 hdd's over the years so far.
Slightly off topic I installed win 11 Monday and wondered why my personal usertweaks.cmd failed to set some en-gb related tweaks such as some time/regional ones. Looked through the script to see I had a lot of wmic lines which don't work so had to rewrite with pshell equivalents. Looked at date stamp and it was 2022 last time I looked at it or updated it. So if you have any scripts you use on win 11 check for any wmic lines as they could fail as wmic may not be in the build/os. Caught me out on that!!
