Well for my 900th post MRP v67.0 is now out of testing and has been uploaded. First post updated with new password. See changelog for details. Quick Summary: New tools by Alphawaves in place, tested fully and catches 99.9% of duff MSDM tables. (I have to account for that 0.1% just in case. ) Cloud/N now displays the name correctly - Note you need special attention to the WIM/ESD for that to work otherwise it will be blocked from use! Details can be found on MDL if you wish to have a play. New 'feature' added for Windows 10, see changelog and Oobe.cmd for what it is. Off by default as always.
Query Tool V29.0 has been updated and uploaded. See first post download section for password. Changelog updated. Added OS Installation Date/Time, cosmetic but may have some use for someone working on a pc. It may not be 100% accurate depending on if the OS was upgraded from say RS1 to RS2 etc it may have the date of the upgrade and not the original date. It also should display the date/time in your locale's format. ie MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY etc. The conversion is done by reading the registry value and converting it to human readable format. Other little rewording done here and there. Will let you find those out. Plus shaved off about 3-4 seconds processing time along the way too.
MRP v68.0 - 'UnderTheSea' has been uploaded, first post updated with new password. See Changelog for details. This version covers the RS3 update. Hopefully also the loads of new SKU's/Editions now available. If a new one appears, MRP will still attempt to brand/activate if possible.
Can I use MRP in order to replace my kms license to oem during updating from creators update to the newest version?
@Ebenz, MRP only brands and legally activates if there is a MSDM or HWID (Digital License) for Windows 10. So if your PC has either of those for the edition you are installing then your Windows Edition will be OEM activated via that method. Say your computer came with Windows 8.x Core/Pro or W10 Home/Pro and you installed 8.x or 10 and the same Edition it came with then the PC would be activated via the MSDM within the BIOS. Likewise if you PC has a Digital License for Home (or Pro) and you installed that corresponding edition then your pc should activate via that D/License. Either way your PC should be branded unless it does not have any brand information to be used in which case the Windows default theme would be used. You can use the Query Tool to determine if your computer has a MSDM present and it will inform you of what Edition it is for. Also the QT will give you an indication of the theme that would be used if MRP can find the DMI information etc. If you not have a HWID/MSDM then MRP would only brand the computer (if possible), and not be able to OEM/HWID activate , you may then need to use the KMS solution again to activate.
^^To shorten above reply slightly: Use the query tool to check what information is detected . If unsure what the tool is reporting, you can post the report here, it doesn't contain any personal info (keys are stored in a different txt file).
Query Tool v30.0 has been uploaded. See Changelog for boring details. Spoiler: QT30 Results - Pro to Pro-WS switch using key As you can see the new note at the bottom if a possible license change has occurred. It may not always show as it is just a simple check. Also a little speed up along the way. The latest additions are always close to the top of the changelog. Quick Summary: Added Edition Licence switch detection (simple version) Adjusted some code which has made processing a bit faster. Covers RS3 'RTM' .15 release to say Baseline Release. Server Edition names should all be displayed fully now as if there was brackets ( ) within the name it sometimes chopped the name off!
Hi bros, long time no see I've never tried QT before on a machine with no bootable hard drive. How can I use it to retrieve Windows version, sku and OEM:DM key?
Yeah thought it would fail on a 'live cd' because some .Net dependencies etc are not present. In the case of W8.1 .Net 3.5/4.x missing. Hence why Generic*.exe fails.
