thank you it looks like it worked , i noticed the vmware > dell resolution kicked in vista i think needs a reboot to activate but that immaterial. edit just thought N Versions i dont think there is a key in the project so it uses a default key that wont activate it. N/E versions are strange SKU's.
i'm using KMS solution for activation with this projects but the key is default i think mmm i'm using multi lang edited ISO not MSDN iso that's why got this key i check the key it's for DELL edition BusinessN
lol ok i say no more If i remember KMS should use a key in its database list to activate the version installed? Will have to have a play with kms and see.
Many thanks for testing , at least now a few more SKU's are branding, activation may be a bit odd with KMS but as i not write those programs i can't help on that side
Been tweaking the scripts... Now if MRP detects a SKU/Edition on Vista/7 that is N or E, (such as Vista BusinessN/E, Windows 7 UltimateN/E etc), the script should skip the PIDKEY checking section. It will just attempt brand/theme only. A message will appear in the project.log about no key available for this Edition. Took me a while to get it all to work out as it's VERY sensitive to changes! The change log is getting longer. When final beta testing is done this will be a MAJOR update to the project as quite a lot of new code has been added.
Just doing final tests and then project is finally completed ready to upload. Have hopefully covered majority of Editions/SKU's, (apart from Server - not supported at present.)
Project Updated! Project has been uploaded. See first post for download link and Change log information. Phew! Glad to not to have to see that "We're Happy Your Here..." screen for a while!!
Thanks I try to keep it 'fresh' Yeah i miss the thanks button, have to keep looking not to press the report icon lol pity it isn't more in the centre of the 'bar' to prevent miss reports.
Have noticed a small 'bug' has crept into the MRP, its not nasty, just when it checks for online activation, it says it is not connected and then it may say it appears to be connected as well. Will fix this in the next update. Have added a few more SKU's to the list of supported Editions: (Shown in BOLD) Spoiler Listing Of Supported Editions These should all brand providing DMI information is present. (N/KN/K/E/S/SN and a few others listed should skip key insertion.) Core, CoreN, CoreSingleLanguage, CoreConnectedSingleLanguage, SingleLanguage, CoreConnected. Education, EducationN, EducationE, EducationK, EducationKN. Enterprise, EnterpriseN, EnterpriseE, EnterpriseSN, EnterpriseSN, EnterpriseK, EnterpriseKN, EnterpriseSubscription, EnterpriseSubscriptionN. Ultimate, UltimateN, UltimateE, UltimateK, UltimateKN. Business, BusinessN, BusinessE, BusinessK, BusinessKN. Professional, ProfessionalWMC, ProfessionalN, ProfessionalE, ProfessionalK, ProfessionalKN, ProfessionalEducation, ProfessionalEducationN, ProfessionalCountrySpecific, ProfessionalSingleLanguage, ProfessionalWorkStation, ProfessionalWorkStationN. HomePremium, HomePremiumN, HomePremiumE, HomePremiumK, HomePremiumKN. HomeBasic, HomeBasicN, HomeBasicE, HomeBasicK, HomeBasicKN. Starter, StarterN, StarterE, StarterK, StarterKN. Note: Some SKU/Editions may not 'exist' as such but have included them for conformity. I was asked why only the supported Edition change, as before the project would brand even if a non supported Edition was installed. Answer: PID & MSDM Key control, with the new system it allows the project to skip PID/MSDM key auto-insertion for certain SKU's which can cause undesired effects. For example: Install Enterprise on a PC with a MSDM key for Pro and it will change to Pro Edition, not the desired effect. Or Install a N Edition and the project would insert the wrong SLP-OEM key. The new system hopefully prevents these scenarios.
Thanks The_Guardian I remember your words that it is very sensitive to changes, you wasn't wrong lol A few times was puzzled why it gave an error or none at all, to then notice a missing ) or some other character. At times i get blurred vision checking and rechecking so many times when changing or adding one little thing.
