It's from MS, it's just not downloaded in a form that you can modify. Thx to qad's decrypter we're able to decrypt the file and apply/capture stuff to wim format so that the appropriate programs will run properly (boot.wim instead of boot.esd) I think ms's setup box program actually does the same thing, in essence, when you download and select the create install media option. The problem is that all of Microsoft's programs are obfuscated, so it would take a talented reverser to use MS's shorter methods. It is just not feasible to ask anyone to spend weeks reversing a program that we can already functionally do. So no, it's not a hack, but it is pretty cool.
File: Windows-8.1-Update-Core-Single-Language-en-US-x64-WIM.iso >> offline. ed.- Stupid server, now is online. For the record, I checked several times before posting.
Weird, after hashing it twice (1st time on one HDD, then 2nd time on another one) I got this: Spoiler File : Windows-8.1-Update-Core-Single-Language-en-US-x64-WIM.iso Size : 3.81 GB CRC32 : 67a6c72d MD5 : 5cbf42098987371a5f98cd6ee3735232 SHA1 : a100311c3610f86cd98c27b97279e60170170605

Why the magnet link doesn't work? I'm using Deluge client with encryption on , and it doesn't start to download EDIT: after adding the trackers list, everything is fine
murphy78 same here: File: Windows-8.1-Update-Core-Single-Language-en-US-x64-WIM.iso CRC-32: 67a6c72d MD4: 77a4a61caf52a79b1573e96ae9f11b60 MD5: 5cbf42098987371a5f98cd6ee3735232 SHA-1: a100311c3610f86cd98c27b97279e60170170605 also for File: Windows-8.1-Update-Core-Single-Language-en-US-x86-WIM.iso Size: 2.83 GB got: File: Windows-8.1-Update-Core-Single-Language-en-US-x64-WIM.iso.decrypted CRC-32: 67bfc73a MD4: 498992245158d16c5e6bf679b8a12e86 MD5: 83fc39771acdeecb9e24dd6a09d97470 SHA-1: f0f80440b51f0de0c6ce7b76e8ca1726c58332c9
I've just redownloaded them with FireFox 28.0 (x86) with Mega extention and got: Code: File: Windows-8.1-Update-Core-Single-Language-en-US-x86-WIM.iso FileSize: 3,044,794,368 bytes CRC32: BD3ECDC4 MD5: 5CF519DDD9B26AD3E20469A63FC9D737 SHA-1: 4654D4876E7B3ADD6CADD776796B29B36060EBBF File: Windows-8.1-Update-Core-Single-Language-en-US-x64-WIM.iso FileSize: 4,093,814,784 bytes CRC32: 48EC30F4 MD5: 28DED93F19A883C330CB958FE563D409 SHA-1: F277E0339C021EB5300365F4039B11080599296D Those are same as what I downloaded and confirmed working before.
Well I've always used JDownloader, however in this case I'll follow you, will download thru Firefox 28.0 and Mega extension.
I've found a new bug in the DaRT8.1 for winpe images. Apparently the new build doesn't play nice with the existing HALs so a wpeinit.exe is required to get the downloads going. I'll update the OP pastebin link and mega uploads soon for the fix and update the dart thread with the add-to-mounted-wim method. Problem: since the hardware detection is a little different, it won't automatically assign network access to pnp devices like 8.0 and 8.1 did What happens is that you won't be able to connect to remote help or download offline defender updates. You also cannot run commandprompt wpeinit.exe after starting the recenv because it will fail to detect windows after the fact. Solution: change winpeshl to run wpeinit.exe before netstart.exe Also, add both of those to winre.wim's winpecfg.ini Edit: ok fixed the pastebin link... You will need to re-download if you use these.
Any chance you can share DaRT 8.1 installer? I need two .cab files from the installation source - Please!!!
