just a quickie question.. what's the difference between using gVLK KMS key instead of default/KMS keys in the installation?
gVLK means generic Volume Licensing Key. It is one and the same as the KMS key. a generic install key, however, is a little different. This is the retail channel equivalent, but cannot be activated in any way.
so, if I'm going for later activation using KMS tools, i must install it with default/KMS key? If gVLK key is used in the OS instalation, activation is not possible? tiny doubts before transition for win 8.1.. thank you for the answer!
You're confusing things here . There exist gVLK (as already explained by murphy78) and Retail Install Keys, both are generic. The latter are only good for install but cannot be activated. It's equal which you use for install. You can switch later to gVLK before attempting KMS activation.
u confused me even more LOL I just want to install win8 and don't bother with any activation issue.. just run MTK and.. yeahh for this purpose, which key do I setup in the instalation? sorry about the inconvenience hehe thank you!
Thanks a BUNCH for your great effort in this thread, I have a small question to ask you if I may ... Is Windows media center included in Windows 8.1 Professional VL with Update (x64) - DVD (English) or not ? and if not how can I install it on my PC if I used the above DVD for the installation ? and what is the use of gvlkProfessionalWMC key ? Thanks
Thanks EFA11, I have a laptop running on MS DOS, what exactly can I do to install a copy of Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center x64 (and the update) and then use microsoft toolkit to activate it ??? can anyone plzzzzzzzz help me Thanks
Updated the description on the OP a little and added most of the MultiLang versions of the torrents I've been creating in the PD thread. I believe the way the descriptions are laid out and the links are satisfactory, but if you find an issue please let it be known.
just by double clicking it ?! sorry I thought I needed a special software to do so. Thanks alot and sorry for repeatedly disturbing you
No you have to have admin permissions and run it with the argument of the esd full filename, so I'd suggest running admin command prompt and then run those commands from the correct directory. Alternatively you could create a shortcut to decrypt.cmd and add the esd file argument and check the advanced option "run as administrator" and then just run the shortcut.
