Thanks for the reply PointZero, I have a BOC fan for what seems like forever. I was amazed to see the remnants of the band still touring and would love to get the chance to see them live in 2017. budzos
Great to hear. Longtime fan here too- seen them several times over the years. Yeah, they're down to two original members with some newer members added, but still fun to see play live. It seems like they're constantly touring so hopefully they'll be in your area soon. http://www.blueoystercult.com/Road/OnTour.html
Same here. I saw them at My Fathers place. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Father's_Place Wiki says Blue oyster cult, but the MC introduced them as The soft white underbelly. Check out the story behind "The last days of may". The 3 guys killed in Mexico were buying weed so that they could sell it and get gear for their band. It was to be called "The Soft White Underbelly". I hope I remember the story correctly. It's been a while since I last heard it.
MJ: Wow, that's awesome to have seen BOC in their prime in a smaller sized venue like that. I love seeing bands in small clubs. Aerosmith played a free outdoor concert tonight in downtown Phoenix for the final four basketball games and we were so far away from the stage that I basically just watched the show on the big screens next to the stage. Not very intimate at all.. MJ, yes, BOC has played shows as the Soft White Underbelly. That used to be the band's name a long time ago, but they still played shows occasionally even later using that name when trying out new material or warming up for a big tour. If you saw them when they used that name, that was a special show and even more cool that you saw them then. My understanding of the The Last Days of May was that the lyrics were supposedly a true story that happened to friends of Donald Roeser (their guitarist). That's all I know. It's a great song though. jeggg: yes, good memories indeed. And their music is still great to listen too.
