Booting form multiple ISOs from USB with easyBCD is peace of cake... 1. click "BCD Deployment" & under partition choose your USB drive. Then click "Install BCD". Double sure before install that you have selected the right drive. 2. It will prompt you load store from USB drive click yes else load manually. 3. Now click "Add New Entry" & select ISO tab under Portable\External Media. 4. Copy ISO to USB and make sure whole path or file & folder name does not contain spaces. 5. Choose name of your choice, Select path to ISO & click "add Entry". Repeat step 4 & 5 for each ISO & entry.. You are ready to Go.. I used this with recovery ISO image only never tried to use installation ISO image(I think installation will not work this way from ISO).... I think you will get same message as posted by Weedy
I should point out also, that when ever I've used EasyBCD to make a BCD with more than 4 options, it breaks and won't boot anything.
Ok... Never tried... procedure with screenshots would be nice & could you post link to that Chinese tool too?
This is the root of the drive. From top to bottom, let me explain the folders. Ignore the fact that they are marked as hidden. Boot En-gb en-us NST Sources These are placed here by creating the winPE bootable usb. Vistax86, x64, win7x86, winTPC etc, - these are the extracted installers for each version of windows vista onwards. Bootmgr - placed by winpe imagex, installxp.bat, xpfinal.wim - these are here to install xp. MPAM-FE, x64, these are the definition files for Windows defender offline. They must be in the root of the usb, just like they would be if you created a normal defender offline disc/usb. Sources Folder In the sources folder, you have the 4x boot.wim's (3 are renamed) that you will use EasyBCD to boot from. Boot.wim is winPE x86, boot64.wim is winPE x64 and the two WDO.wims are windows defender offline 32 and 64 bit. When you add these images in BCD, they are all added under the option of adding WinPE. play around with easyBCD and you'll see what I mean. Installing XP The last thing to look at, is installing XP. You can look up on the internet how to create an XP.wim image. This is how you deploy that image. Boot to your winPE x86 (x86 is important as thats the version of windows you're installing. same applies for x86 and x64 vista, 7 and 8.) Then at the command line, you need to use diskpart to format the HDD and label it as drive C. Labelling it is important, as otherwise the batch file won't work. After that, change to the usb drive, usually d by typing d: then just run the batch file. imagex.exe /apply xpfinal.wim "1" c: This will deploy the XP image. This is also why imagex.exe needs to be in the root of the usb drive.
Ok, I'm at work at the moment, and don't have the SPAT tool on me. What I'll do, when I get home tonight, I'll create a new thread, as a guide with full screenshots and explanations, including how to capture the xp image, how to set up easyBCD, and so on and so forth. I'll also upload the spat tool somewhere.
.plop.at/en/bootmanagers.html This free with a lot of features. I can't post links, so prepend the (h***://www) stuff.
Well ive just woke so bear with me. Ill get to reading these post and their linked info in a little bit.
Thanks for the tuto. I started and stick now on the location WHERE I've to install EasyBCD? If I understand correctly, EasyBCD should be installed to the USB Device (I didn't use a Stick, a USB 3.0 HDD instead). Please advice. Thanks.
Sorry NO! I've Hidden Files and Folders as well a hidden protected System files set to enabled to be visible! Boot isn't there!
Then there could be procedural problem with winPE 4.0 creation on USB\HDD... Without it its not bootable...
