From Aug 21st 2020, MVS dump is updated automatically without my intervention, hence some "useless" ones may show up. Each time a new product or file is added to MVS, there will be a new dump available. @Enthousiast does a great job updating this thread, so I feel there's no need to make any more 'drastic changes'. There is however something that I would like to make a bit more widespread. If you or your loved ones are in need of any MVS files - contact me. I set up an automated way of generating direct MVS links on demand for people in need and anyone they wish to share them with. More info on request; Contact me and I'll tell you what, where and how. (no need for 'random pedestrians'/spectators to make a mess and attract unnecessary attention)
What happens with SHA1 checksum of Windows and Server updated December 2020. Why is not exist SHA1? Is SHA1 valid enough? Thanks.
They won't be provided now and most likely never again. SHA-1 is being (painfully slowly) phased out after it was beyond doubt proven to be insecure for most uses back in 2017 with it being officially deprecated in 2011 and having known attack vectors against it dating back to 2005. There is no reason to fear using it for verifying files (i.e. verifying file integrity) but it's something of a reminder that you just shouldn't use SHA-1 anymore in general. You can be certain the file is unaltered with the first few characters of SHA-256; I don't mean truncate the hash to a few characters but if it looks the same at first glance, you can safely leave it at that. Just use SHA-256.
