it came Has a sticker for vista home on the side, so i believe it came with vista home basic because the board belongs to this case lol.. But I am trying to slic it to take ultimate because thats the disc I have. Tried the hp oem ultimate before and after bios mod to see and I get the 30 days. I am trying to get a all in one with home basic to give that a try.. But if you have idea how to activate or alter the bios for ultimate that's be great. As I have done slics before, but not on a pc that has a vista os with it OEM. lol
If it activated Basic, it should activate others. HAve you checked the serial you are using???Try the mod I made??

I cant say much because when I got the pc the hard drive was missing. So I never seen vista actually on it, but the case does have a vista home basic sticker. I am trying to download a vista home oem I have installed the Untouched bios from their site, and I will post the results... If that dont work, I will try the bios you posted for w7... Might be fun to try w7 or contact hp because that is one of them options for activation..
The windows seven slic activates both vista and windows 7. This is just the -CPC slic...Matches the one supposed to be in this bios.. BTW>>>I dont think I have to say this, but the COA sticker serial is useless and will activate nothing.....Use the SLP in the vista stickies..
When I try and run either bios update now I get: Windows based BIOS Update Your System Does not meet the minumim requirements for this update Update has been cancled. I can only do it with a standalone windows bios flasher for AMI
All Well I used windows AFUWIN.exe and flashed the bios file you gave me. Same results. I am beginning to thing there may have been a bad burn, but all installed with no errors except it is now telling me that I have 30 days to activate. I get the following 30 days to activate. Activate windows now product Id: 89580-OEM-7332132-00130 (Change product key) hm,mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

no. From last bios you gave me to try, I believe "HP_sp26922SLIC_MPC_2.1" I brought the pc home with me, So I am on dialup, Reinstalled vista. IT has not even seen internet so I am lost. I loaded the ssv1 you just sent, here is a screen shot of the bios loading. Same result.. 29 days. Weird... I've never seen nothing like it. Would u like screen shots from the ssv1? which one specific so I dont have to upload all of them again from rw everything. I really do appreciate your help. You seem just as stumped as me at this point.
A large part of the problems may be the winflash..Afudos is best for flashing. I cannot many bios flashes not successful with winflash activated with AFUDOS from DOS.. We need the SLIC table and the RSDT..Just paste them into one document, you can save all in rweverything. It is a small text file... Be sure table is from reboot and clear cmos/load defaults...
Hp oem I also read an see the post you saying the serial is meaningless on the case. I have a original vista cd. Says "windows anytime upgrade" It asks for a key and when u dont put one, it asks to select a version. I gave it a whirl and selected ultimate, still with no luck. Deleted the partition, and reinstalled the HP oem with sp1. Which worked wonders with other hp bios slic. how do I check to see if the cd installed the security oem file or whatever u call it specific to the hp cd and royalty keys. Also where it says change key, couldnt I throw a royalty key in there.

can you save as .rw I think it is the last save dialog. You now have a 2.1 slic, but I need to see the RSDT...in a better format..
