This may not work for you, but for my BIOS, all the extra .WPH data followed directly after the .ROM data, so I did a HEX copy and paste.

For my BIOS, .ROM was exactly 1,048,576 bytes and .WPH was 1,054,816 bytes. I just pasted the additional 6240 bytes to the end of .ROM file and renamed it to .WPH.

DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK

Yes it worked for me, and i stripped your .wph extra bytes off and decompiled your modded bios in PBE, and I spot something wrong.

In BIOSCOD02.ROM you have correctly changed RSDT OEM ID, OEM Table ID and Creator ID.

But there is also XSDT, whcih still has your original GATEWASYSTEM in it, i sugest change this aera of BIOSCOD02.ROM also, before flashing. But I think your rebuilt .WPH file is good apart from this change.

But please dont blame me if you brick your motherboard/laptop...

I cant answer this question, i dont know. I did a direct replacement on an already released BIOS, so my .WPH extra data was kept intact from original released BIOS image.

HP Pavillion DV9790 with BIOS F.53a Phoenix

The method in first post, does not appy to HP Pavillion DV9790 with BIOS F.53a Phoenix, different ROM tables etc.

I will wait until the guys at Digital Life open the new mod subforum this weekend, as I don t want to brick my laptop in haste, when the real experts are already on the case!

    HP dv6357ea with Bios F.2D

    Hello,

    For HP dv6357ea, I don't have ACPI07.ROM but I found HOLE6.ROM :

     ¶ HPQOEMSLIC-MPCWINDOWS 0¨~Ý.-6«T§Œ:*/Æ[³³Ý“îŽ9©’ÐZ á-õ¢z>T…™rV_ìkc‚>yP@ÉñÓÅX9¨ñV‘êœTàÎÉð]ѱ°žæºbñ;–°}×GxÉ(Rç-J÷p»S¾ÍOwÑ/¨=\&¯€B%ïz²gº

    Do I replace it ?
    Thanks

Great thanks to YEN and Clag!!

Excellent work! I was searching the web endlessly for my HP DV9500 series laptop bios mod!! Now the question is, I have a F.22 bios! hp has updated it to F.59A in December of 2008! So it certainly does not have a SLIC 2.1!!

I got the PBE tool that YEN posted and the SLIC 2.1 BIN and slic info!! I dont know where to start!! Or if Clag's modified bios will work on my laptop?! Or, if he is so kind enough to do a bios mod for my Hp laptop that would be great!!

thank you guys so much!!! thank you once again!!!!

Hi, from my experience (that not much hehe)

RSDT should have a creater id .
Just like SLIC have a creater id.
I don't really know it should be the same or not.

In my case I learned that RSDT creater id is " LTP", this from original HP F.2E from HP website bios.
And SLIC creater id is "HPQ" as you can see (Also from original bios too)

So, I desired to change not the creater id part of RSDT, just change OEM ID and OEM Table ID.

Anyway , I think that RSDT Creater ID is just a string , so you may change it if you want.

Remember, for the hex editor, " LPQ" needs to be changed to "HPQ ". Take note of the spaces before and after!

So, I think I will not mod any bios for you guys, but if you have any question, I will help you out as better as I can.

And thank you to bedrock about the information that help this post better.
