Could try manually installing a modem driver. I've done it for many systems.

    Goto Device Manager

    Rightclick the unknown device (modem)

    Update Driver Software

Browse my computer for driver software.

Let me pick a list of drivers on my computer

Find Conexant (the type of modem)

and see if there is a modem driver that is on a High Definition Audio bus or (HDA).

I was able to do this for my gateway to get a 64-bit modem driver. And yes I've tested it and it works.

I've not had any luck with the HP modems. Gateway and such are a breeze. If you find a good driver, let me know...:D:D

Ya had to manually install some basic modem driver, says its functional but i cant test it (who the hell uses dialup?) as long as there are no question marks. got the tuner card, workin on the audio and thats it. I gotta give it to HP, they really did a good job listing components, most companies just list their name for the motherboard and give generic specs. Coulda used PCI tree but that would be a pain in the ass. other than that I can finally get some sleep :)
