    Hi,

I've been looking for AMD SATA AHCI driver for my notebook but couldn't find right one. Details are:

    Model: HP Pavilion g4 Notebook
    Processor: AMD A4-3330MX APU

I need AMD SATA AHCI Controller driver for WinXP. Please someone provide me right one so I can merge it into my XP installation and install it on my notebook. There are many on web but can't find right or suitable one.

There is no option in BIOS to change SATA mode to IDE.

    EDIT:

    Because package includes both (x86, x64) versions.

    Code:
AMD AHCI controller driver distribution list
    Version 1.2.001.0321, 10/28/2011

    WS03x64 - Windows Server 2003 SP2, x64
    WS03x86 - Windows Server 2003 SP2, x86
    LHx64 - Windows Server 2008, x64
    LHx86 - Windows Server 2008, x86
    Win7x64 - Windows Server 2008R2, x64

AMD AHCI controller driver distribution list
    Version 1.2.001.0331, 04/11/2012

    LHx64 - Vista, x64
    LHx86 - Vista, x86
    Win7x64 - Windows 7, x64
    Win7x86 - Windows 7, x86

What is the process of integration of the driverpack?? I have examined it & it has driver for your particular controller. Anyway, it will be useless to install XP on this notebook as XP doesn't support the kind of dual graphics solution found in the laptop.

After booting from WinXP installation media, there are various drivers loaded by windows like SCSI, Adaptec, Mylex, Dell, Intel RAID etc. and just after these are loaded I get a blue screen error.
    Code:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

    Technical information:

    *** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78D2524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
There is no special reason for installing WinXP which no longer receives security updates from MS. I just wanted to install it on first priority but now I think I should install Win7(x86) and leave aside this headache :)

I have a DVD with all drivers from DriverPack integrated and never had this problem with Sata drivers on the machines where installed Windows XP!

This DVD has almost 1.5GB because of the updates for Windows XP and integrated drivers!

    Good luck!

    Hugs!

What benefit can I get from your 1.5GB DVD? :) Did you try your DVD on AMD based notebooks such as this one mentioned above which has AMD SATA AHCI controllers? I am sure you will also be unable to install it on such notebooks/desktops running AMD SATA controllers because no valid AMD SATA controllers exist on web or released by manufacturers for XP.

I can install XP on any Intel based notebook or PCs in a matter of minute. It's not a big deal :)

    Thanks.

You need the AMD chipset drivers

Thinking you need to download the AMD chipset drivers... this contains the AMD ACHI SATA controller driver.

    Maybe try this:

    h**p://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS027664

Not for your specific laptop, but should work nonetheless.

I would slipstream the drivers into the Windows XP ISO, that way, you won't even be prompted for the driver diskette!
