I've just spent alot of time reading about all the different activation methods of windows 7. From all sorts of different loaders, to bios modding, to versions that are supposedly pre-activated, or cracking it while blocking the anti piracy updates. Not to mention all the different rtm, or rc, or ultimate versions, etc. Its just overwhelming, especially trying to figure out which info is most current. Can anyone bring me up to speed and let me know what is the best and easiest , method of activating windows 7 at this point in time? (while still being reliable, updatable, and as permanent as possible). And could you point me in the right direction towards any further information about said method? Thanks. PS: the motherboard would be ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO if that makes any difference.
Unless you are reasonably confident with BIOS flashing use a loader. Not that BIOS flashing is really difficult and works 99 + % of the time and a BIOS mod is a once only solution BUT if it goes wrong make sure you have enough reddies for a new board - paying to fix a bricked board will cost as much or more than a new one.
Thanks very much to all that replied, especially iNO12 with that detailed response, very helpful. I'm thinking the best idea would be the bios mod, afterall there is a bios recovery utility on that motherboard, and then keep the Daz loader idea on the back burner as a backup plan. I just have a couple more questions. 1. It was mentioned that an untouched rtm iso is the best way to go, however when searching a popular area, it turns up with floods and floods of pre-activated ones. Anyone have any hints or keywords to include in the search to help more directly find a good untouched iso (preferrably ultimate) that will work with bios mod or daz loader? 2. Should the bios be modded first before a windows install (like via a bootable usb dos drive, or motherboard utility), or do you have like the usual 30 day trial period to get everything squared away? 3. Just to make sure, the bios mod simply inserts the slic table in the existing firmware, and doesn't interfere with any of the other features or functions of the motherboard right? Thanks.
If you're comfortable flashing your bios, go that route. The people who mod bios here know what they're doing. Good luck.
I agree with Hazar, RemoveWAT is the best choice. its quick easy and works like a champ. Used it on at least 6 different machines (1 virtual and 5 not) and it works perfect. Even worked on a IMac woot! Thanks Hazar!
