easy Things you'll gonna need in a folder, say under C: 1. unpacked driverpack 2. software that's not gonna be installed by default but might be needed later, ie, dvd burning software, adobe stuff 3. OEM SLIC and key collection in a folder for computers that has OEM slic bios, and Winloader 1. insall windows 7 like normal, until it reboot and you get to the screen where you boot to hard drive the first time. 2. press Shift + F10, it will reboot and you'll be in audit mode 3. in audit mode, you're logged in as admin, and there will be a sysprep window opened. ignore that before you've done everything, drag it away so it doesn't block your screen . 4. install any software you think right, and do the windows updates, and adjust the timezone, languages and etc...if restart is needed, from sysprep window, choose to boot into audit mode. 5. after everything is done, from sysprep window, choose "enter system Out-of-box experience(OOBE), check "Generalize" under that box, and shutdown option => Shutdown, then click OK. 6. so that computer is shutdown now. boot your PE, and capture that image, and test it on different computers, about driver, sysprep strips out the critical device drivers, doing its best to prevent bluescreen, that's why unpacked driverpack in the image is handy.. these are the simple guide lines on how to do a simple image. in real life, you might need to deal with reformatting partitions, preserving dell diagnostic partition, preserving factory restore image in case your customer don't like the new system, modifying BCD so the computer boots correctly, and more. you need to know what you're actually doing, but this image will save you a lot of time.
