It might be possible to use drivers from another machine(occasionally even manufacturer ,but it's a bit of a Russian roulette. A good way you can try this is to stick to your basic specs - chipset / cpu / video etc. - that's how I found decent enough drivers for my ol' Compaq 615. Still,if you decide to experiment, make a system image snapshot - ie with the inbuilt "Windows 7 File Recovery" option, so if you nuke your computer, you can revert to a more or less working system in 30 minutes without having to reinstall everything again
Sorry that it didn't workout If its any consolation I spent 2 hours on the phone with HP support last night trying to sort out a printer we only brought 6 weeks ago that doesn't work properly in windows 8 and they still cant get it to work It seems to me that HP are C**p at supporting there products when it comes to a new OS Regards
Lol,I'm fighting through the same HP Customer Support hell to get a 2month old Photosmart AIO to play nice with Pro x64. The real kicker is that my venerable Deskjet 3200 worked perfectly, despite being effing old (the only reasons why I kept it around are nostalgia and that it works well enough with Linux)
I have this problem on Dell Studio and on Lenovo IdeaCentre. Hibernation works fine but sleep mode sometimes (once for a hundred) makes them difficult to wake up.
Which for a '10 laptop is not that likely, unless people raise a big enough stink Still,I wonder if the problem isn't related with the video card, as I used to have some occasional wakeup from standby issues that went away after I got the 12.6 Legacy CatDrivers.. As for HP's customer support, yeah - it's awful - once they managed to continuously misplace my support ticket in Dublin for a month, just so the warranty on my battery ran out. Afterwards, they literally called me the day after it was over to tell me that 'they were sorry, but as my battery's warranty had passed I didn't qualify for a free replacement, but they could offer me a 120Euro replacement one ':fuyou31:
