I am trying to fix a friends Laptop The laptop originally had win 8 then she updated to 8.1 and a few months later her hard drive died Enters me I offered to install win 7 and did so. Now the laptop has gone crazy with lots of bsd etc She now wants to go back to win 8 The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite c850 (Australian version) I have been reading for 2 days and have come to the conclusion that it is all way over my head and that I need help so now im here asking for Help I need the most simple of explanation as im not the brightest star in the universe cheers Rosie PS I will have to download win 8 to my pc because her laptop is not working properly .
OK. #1. Determine the Windows version that was originally installed (Core, CoreSingleLanguage, Professional). If not known, you would either need to install 8 then upgrade to 8.1 or gather the key and install Win 8.1 directly. #2. get appropriate ISO to install. Should be enough task for now . Is the Win 7 system still operable?
Sob sob.. Where would i get the download it would be an OME version Yes? I figure if I could get the manufactures download life would be easier It would prob read the key in Bios and everything would be sweet (maybe?) So hard to get a clean download I would need a version that I could burn to DVD and then install on her computer Yes I would need to install 8 then upgrade to 8.1 (this is what I have been lead to believe) No her laptop has crashed
No manufacturer downloads available. Neither MS nor OEMs offer them. If you know what you need, one can point you to a download. ALL OFFERED ISOs AT MDL ARE CLEAN AND PROVEN BY COMMUNITY. For most you can match the hashes with the ones offered by MS, to know you got an untouched MS ISO .
Still very unsure of myself here but am downloading this version Windows 8.1 with Update (multiple editions) (x64) - DVD hopefully i have selected right thanks for taking the time out to reply s1ave
