Hi If it works then no need to reflash. The actual mod technique hasn't changed for ages. Every now and then an odd BIOS comes along that doesn't work. As every flash carries a small risk of failure, stay where you are. SSV2 is needed for MSI. Dynamic would be the way the board manufacturers do it (but needs code modification to make it work) so you really are best off with SSV3. Andy
thanks for the info guys, and also because its an older board that is probably better suited for running xp, although it runs vista suprisingly well i think i would like to have both slp 1 and 2, so ive always got a choice so i will wait for an update thank you andy for the tools, i think your doing an excellent job here on them
Meant to do this long ago. Andy again thanks for your tool. ASUS P5QL-PRO with Asus Slic and Cert PLUS Dell Enterprise Key...........WIN2K8 Enterprise running like a beauty !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!x86..........THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
New version v1.17 ADD: Ability to add core v7 SLP SSV2 style FIX: SLIC offset was damaged in core v7 SLIC+SLP modification Andy
thanks for the updated tool, im not sure when im going to flash the bios to that asrock board cos ive gotta do some backups and hardware changes, but when ive flashed the modded bios i will report my findings hopefully i will get round to it over the next week one thing im concerned about is im running a craked oem activator at the moment on this asrock machine, so i need to get rid of that before i use the modded bios, unfortunatly i dont know what type it is, it came pre inserted into the vista.iso, (bie, july vista ultimate) i need to get shut of any mods and restore the MBR, what the best way to perform this, i want to leave the vista on the drive just resoring it back to original vista, then hopefully i wont have to back up so much and can get round to the bios modd quicker thanks
AndyP: Please give me working links to the newest versions of AIM Slic Tool and Award Slic Tool. I cannot find a link for the 2 newest versions. Thanks.
With the greatest of respect, it is not necessary to PM and to post the same question in two threads. See answer by PM and in Award tool thread. THESE ARE THE LATEST VERSIONS. Andy
I found them...thanks....It is frustrating to newbies like me on this forum when somethings seem to be confusing...lol....I will figure it out. Thanks
