911medic Thank you for your answers. I will let you know how things went as soon as my new toys get here. lol Thanks again
Hmmm. Tick the automate mmtool option and try and see if that works. Before ticking replace did you select the 1b module in the listbox (so the 'Module ID','Offset' and 'Segment fields' of the replace section get filled with 1B,0000, and 0000 respectively? Andy
No, I didn't select the 1b module from the list box. I didn't realise I was supposed too? I was wondering why the Mod ID, Offset and Seg stayed blank. Oops! I will try it out later on.
Sweeeeet! Dynamic worked 100% for activation on my Asus P6T Deluxe board. I just installed it tonight. Flashed the bios before installing Vista Ultimate. Installed it without a key. Ran the certificate and it activated. I ten went to change key and put in a Ultimate key to make sure. Thank you for your great program Andyp.
New version. Automated MMTool is now automatic. It will now also offer to put SLIC above AMIBIOS header if there is no space below even if Force below option is ticked. This should hopefully be more logical. v0.998 FIX: Speed up SSV2 method FIX: Open files in a different way (allows source files to be open at the same time eg. in a hex editor) FIX: Specifying a manual address to insert SLIC overrides the Force Below AMIBIOS string option FIX: Automated MMTool is now the default option for SSV1, SSV3 and Dynamic methods FIX: Remove unnecessary 8 bit and 32 bit corrections after SLIC in SSV2 method (main BIOS checksum is still checked/corrected) Cheers Andy
i dunno if this is a bug or not but the bios must be in the same directory as the tool or it will not work, for me anyways
Not really. At the moment the BIOS must be in the same directory as MMTool.exe / AMIMMWin.exe and the other tools. I suppose it would be sensible to be able to have the BIOS itself anywhere. Will update. Andy Update - it's a good suggestion. Tool updated to v0.999. See changelog on first page. Thanks
@ andyp, Great tool getting better every day was just wondering if it would be possible to add rather that xp.txt that you need to edit manually would it be possible to work from .ini file similar to AMI_SLIC3 it is not adding the entries it is knowing the correct order if you are adding more than 1 SLP name i,e, starting from lower memory address. Thanks .
