What were you using before? A loader ?
I still use a loader on mine after almost 7 months and got SP1 and SP2 installed with no worries.
From time to time I do get a screen saying my system could be compromised but I cancel and things go ok.
In the System section says is always genuine........

So what is exactly your drama? BIOS mods are totally untouchable as far as I know.
I have 4 machines here, 2 with mod bios and 2 wihtout using the loader.

Ah, one important thing. I NEVER take any NEWER BIOS form official sites to do mods.
The two machines I moded so far I did do a BACKUP of what was in the BIOS chips.
Then used the Andy tool to mod and then on DOS mode I put the "new" ones.
Why, because what is or was on the machine already was working well. You do not fix what works well. At least that is the way I think.
Secondly might be the case ( I am ultra careful) that the OEM might launch a new one knowing what we do with tricks to stop us (well only for a while) so there is no point to waste time downloading.

Maybe I am wrong but that is what I do.

ANDY, do you think I am too careful here?

Yep, you are being too careful.
I think it is better to get a download of the official version you are using from the manufacturer website. Not necessarily a new revision, but the same one you are using. It is going to be identical to the one you have on your machine, but does not have the possibility of error in the backup.

    Hello Andy & Opa,
I've added SLIC 2.1 HP to my BIOS (MoBo ASUS P5K-E WiFi-AP) with the latest AMItool without any problems and subsequently activated Windows 7 with the OpaTool.
I only want you to send a big thanks for your great tools.
    Peter.

Can be a bad idea... especially for phoenix. Otherwise doing from DOS is the right thing..... just use the original from manufacturers website.

    Hi All,

New version. Includes the experimental DSDT code (there are multiple warnings, so don't worry, you can't activate it by accident)

Should hopefully fix those that are not working with the RSDT/XSDT OEM/Table ID not changing. Should also mean that aflash2 is no longer needed. Please report back.

    Andy

    @ flipp3r,
Did you try with the Ignore Checksum and module 80h warnings option checked in Advanced Options ?

Leave Dynamic Advanced Options at default settings (all 3 boxes checked).

Just tried that. The tool still gave me warnings "Main bios checksum not valid, continue?". If I try loading this new rom AMITool reports "failed to extract 1B module" & leaves me unable to do anything...
