Removed them on my Maximus 2 Formula with no ill effects noticed (nor anything strange in RW reports or everest hardware dump) Andy
Hi Andy, The new 1.39 version of your program successfully removed the Asus OEMX config lock!! We are lucky to have someone as knowledgable as you in this community! Cheers JohnnyC
Andy-sensei, I'm really sorry to spend your precious time if the problem is a lo*der. Yes, now there are two OS installed on that desktop with the same boot >> 1st - Vista Ult x64 & 2nd - Win7 Ult x64 RC 7264 >> both activated by some patches. BTW, both of those RW-data files as provided were made under Vista, but visible results in both RW & Everest are same SLIC2.0 under Win7 as well. Do your mean that the 2203SLIC BIOS file is OK and the flashing procedure was OK many times, but every time when I start either Vista or Win7 I'm getting the wrong SLIC-data results (only SCIC?) by RW & Everest because of lo*der(s) with SLIC 2.0? And what shall I do now? Something like >> clean install of either Vista or Win7... OR both because of the same boot manager in use... then to install there RW & Everest and check SLIC? Or any other options: 1. to cure (because I'd prefer to try to install Win7 OEM Final w/o any lo*der(s) after Oct. 22)... or 2. just to check the real SLIC-info in BIOS? Please advise. THANKS A LOT!
Loaders will overwrite the SLIC in BIOS, I strongly suspect thats the problem... the BIOS mod looks fine. I think you have to boot off CD into recovery console and use bootinst to rewrite bootldr, and mbr but I am not sure. I will ask busykid or 911medic to post.... they probably know better than I Andy
yes!!!!! flashed with Asus AFLASH2 utility under DOS - RW Everything now no longer shows OEMX table but SLIC table and activation is successful! (IIRC - i think mod tool log said method 4 FYI).
Thanks for your attention to the matter. I undestand that to delete-create partition(s), format, clean install is the best solution by default, although it takes more time
andyp now that is no longer the current could be shown as a picture of the tools for Phoenix Bios modd ....
