I have made the bios update successfully: with the original and after with the slic bios (DELL). I was able to run both commands: slmgr -ilc C:\NAME.xrm-ms using dell file and slmgr -ipk with a DELL key and windows said it was fine, BUT the message on screen still says non genuine, even after restart.

A curious thing: I used the DELL info to slic the original BIOS, but in everest it says "OEM ID SIS"??!!

    Any idea?
    Thanks again.

Looking in Everest, there is an entry in ACPI unrecognized and look like a lot of "yyyyyyy": this was not that before the slic bios update, but it is "unrecognized" in everest.
Any idea how to mod this bios properly?

Sort of...... if it finds a slic anywhere in the BIOS (either prev SSV1/2/3 mod or a SLIC that already exists in 1B/Fx modules) it will compare that against the certificate. Unlike the phoenix tool it will only report the first SLIC it finds.

It will also compare the SLIC selected to insert with the certificate.

It didn't properly identify a dummy SLIC in an Fx module. I have fixed this.

    Hi Andy.
Was the last RW memory dump ok? Did it help you?
    Abou your suggestions:
1- I have done the first one: manual insertion of slic + allow nvram: SAME result as before: a strange acpi module under everest and no activation
2- I did the other slic with "allow bootblock" option and it was fine. Here is the log: "Original BIOS size 262144 bytes (256K)

BUT, I am nervous about this last mod, because I know that the bootblock is responsible for the recovery in this amibios boards and we are modifying exactly this part of the bios: IF it goes wrong it will make my note useless and I need it to work everyday.

Do you have any other idea how we can insert a slic table in this kind of bios?
Is there any other info you needso you can evaluate even better this situation?
    Thanks again.

In the other 2 like this a BB mod was needed, and worked.
Yes, the BB is responsible for recovery.
Yes, this is higher risk as a result.
No, I don't need more info.
You COULD try an SSV mod, it didn't work in the cases above and there have been several reported bricks with SSV mods.

For a BIOS SLIC the BB option, as far as I know, is the only one left.
Other than that it is a loader. Which would be safer.

Report feedback only - Problem resolved...

I'v been trying to mod an ASUS M4A78-VM motherboard with 2.1 slic and slp marker using amitool 1.41. Although the tool inserts correctly my bios with 2.1 slic i have been having problems with the slp marker.
To confirm the bios mod i have been using a HD with vista and a HD with XP.
The vista installation activates. The XP installation gives the number of days to activate. i have used SLIC_Dump_ToolKit_V2.1F to confirm that the slp marker is missing.
Yesterday i must have read all the post on this topic and can confirm that post below resolved my problem.

carrying out the above resolves the issues with modding the bios for slic2,1 and slp marker. This has been confirmed in Vista and XP installations and SLIC_Dump_ToolKit_V2.1F.

Many thanks to all on these forums:)
