Great tool, came in handy many times, just wish you the program told you if the bios file already had slic 2.0 or 2.1 embedded like in the phoenix tool. great job none-the-less

    That should do it.
Just don't do step 4. (Choosing the Cert in the Tool sometimes causes problems.)
If you are unsure if the SLIC and cert Match just load the newly modified BIOS file then check the cert.

this is the second motherboard that i have bricked using this tool. and i used this tool hundreds of times. i do not recommend using this tool for the new P55 motherboards and there is something that is goofing them up. i just bricked my replacement motherboard which is the P55 EXTREME. now i have no choice but to order another bios chip. unless someone else wants to take a chance and flash it. first it was the gigabyte P55 motherboard i had nows its the asrock p55 so something is up

    Hi

This sucks! Was the first with the Award tool, then the second with this tool?? Could you PM me with the original and your modded BIOSes, so I can compare here and see what on earth is going on.

    Thanks
    Andy

Thanks. I am just finishing some work on the Phoenix tool for Dell BIOSes (based on Apokrif's great work), then I will look at these. Although, to be honset, very little has changed with the guts of the AMI and Award tools for ages now so I am not expecting a large bug. However, it is always good to check!

Which mod did you use?? enlightening info for sure.

Post mod method (SSv3,OEM7, etc) and flash method qflash, @bios, dos with included flash tool, etc...also any commands would be helpful..

To post that the tool bricked your board is not helpful for TS..as much info as possible will be very helpful and we can likely narrow your problems down.

The fact that the two boards were different makes leads me to believe user error...(no offense).

Asrock need the asrflash and GB need the flashspi at last look...no winflash or online update tools...

i understand what you mean. if i came across as the tool was bricking mbs its not totally what i meant. i just thought maybe since it was 2 motherboards that got bircked i thought maybe they have implemented something in the bioses we did not know about.

now on a good note i did some testing of my own and i came to the conclusion that maybe it was a bad usb stick. b/c i used my sony and flashed the mb via qflash in bios and everything went well and windows activated.

also i used afudos on the last mb asrock p55 extreme. that could have been a problem also? i do not know. i been using u guys tools for months and always has success and i commend yous for your great work and helping out the community.

and np about user error b/c i got thinking maybe it was my fault since i used the same usb stick on both boards that got bricked. so it could have very well been. i just dont get it b/c they read and wrote ok. but one thing is for sure i will not b using a no name brand again.

oh and the reason why i did not post much info was b/c i sent andy via pm the files to look at when this happened
    thanks
