Thanks, I'll give it a try and get back to you. I'm now also a father of a new baby daughter, Just got out of hospital today.
I have an HP Microserver N36L. It has an AMI bios with an HP Proliant 2.0 slic in the F0 module. I want the bios to have a 2.1 slic in it. If I try and add a 21. slic via AMITool I get "Boot block checksum not valid". Using the advanced options in AMITool I can choose to "Ignore checksum and module 80H warnings" and create the bios. My concern is that I will end up with bios that will brick the board. Any thoughts?
@ Ozymandias and Sebus, I think 911Medic had to do a manual mod on those Proliant Server MB's in the past. Maybe he will help out with these.
Just modified the HP Microserver N36L bios with MMTOOL and replaced the F0 (2.0) module with a F0 (2.1) module from an MSI megabook book. Running AMITool's verify indicates that the checksums are correct but I don't have the server yet.
The original BIOS has SLIC 2.0, but it is NOT visible And so far there are no known SLP tools for Proliant servers But if you try to verify the original BIOS you get the checksums NOT correct (which means MMTool corrects the checksum, which might be not good) sebus
