    Hi

Have a problem with Error Code 5 issused by the v1.61 app
Same problem with v1.32 - Error Issued

I am testing my PC Chips M848ALU v1.2 mobo - AMI BIOS

Am I required to set a parameter on the advanced page?
    Is this a known error

    Pls advise

    HI

Am having issues with v1.32 and most recent version (1.61).
I am tying to test an SLP 2.1 patch with both a PC Chips M848ALU v1.2 and ECS K7S7AG mobo.
The tool worked once albeit it had a problem with the bootblock (I had this option checked)
Thereafter, the tool is issuing an exception with v1.32 and Error 5 with v1.61
I am running Win2K Pro SP4 and all patches

Is this to do with the OS running .NET?
Is it some other problem? Should I be selecting features on the advanced page?

    Pls advise

Actually, you probably don't need to mod the BIOS at all...if all you want is SLP.

Go download DMI236.EXE and run if from a floppy/USB pen in DOS, real mode (no emm386 etc.)

    Type this line:
    DMI236.exe /cm "Hewlett-Packard"
And then you can use a HP and/or HP-Compaq XP / 2003 CD to install whatever OS you'd like to install.

    I tried DMI236.exe /cm "Hewlett-Packard" but that doesn't made anything...

    oembios.exe gives me nothing :(

Windows XP OEMBIOS Test v1.0/168/66 (C) 2007 severach @ msfn forums
None of the 66 contained OEMBIOS sets will preactivate to your system.

    Any other ideas ? :)

Use the AMI SLIC Tool and in the advanced Option click on Insert SLP string in IBM Region.
That works on many older ASUS MB's.
