Would anyone be able to help me with a Motherboard with a BIOS ROM that is inside an EXE file? The makers did not release the file itself, only an updating tool. I have had this issue with Dell motherboards in the past. The Motherboard is an ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3. Does anyone know a dos tool I would use to update the BIOS with, but instead just create a backup copy? That seems like the best way to extract the bios rom.

Anyone able to get any of Andyp's tools to work on win 8? When I try creating a bios, for a win 7 machine, I get a error message saying the application couldn't be started.

I tried that and was getting the same results. I re downloaded and tried again. It is now working. The file seemed to be corrupted for some reason on my pc. I have had it happen before with win 7. Thanks

Nevermind, found it by downloading the unofficial AMI one. My problem was not being sure enough if I was creating the proper ROM for my BIOS, I didn't want to blow anything up... Luckily, someone found a version for my motherboard, yay! Everything is working great now and all activated. :) Much easier than making my own, lol.

    Thank you Tito.
Yes it was P5GC-MX/1333, flashed and all ok.

I will give a try disabling antivirus.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Actually I faced this problem before... the victim was the real time scanner of MSE.
