  6. Is there only one ASUS SLIC? Wondering if '_ASUS_Notebook' matters on a desktop. Anyone got a non-'Notebook' one?

Yah, only one Asus slic. Its just the name, which doesn't matter. Asus ships desktops with same SLIC.

  8. I'm a bit vain...any way to get around customizing it with it being valid or?

You can mod it, but then the digital signature of the SLIC will be broken & it willn't work anymore.

    Hi!

Can I use this tool to modify Intel Server BIOS for the S5520HC or S5520SC Motherboard (the same BIOS)?
Is it possible to put Slic 2.3 into BIOS for this MB's?

    thanks & regards

    Hello,

I have not done this before so I want to confirm my understanding before I proceed

Here are some details from the system

So I believe I need to use the AMI BIOS tool.

I'm not sure what version of the SLIC that I need?

    What is this "/i switch"?
I can find no mention of an "i" switch in the syntax docs for AFUDOS.

    Thanks.

    Acer xc600

    Dear all,

I am trying to get Windows 7 Enterprise to install on an ACER XC600. The device was bought without windows, but I have enough licenses of windows lying around. I am trying to install Windows 7 Enterprise and activate it using KMS. KMS activation checks the SLIC table, I guess, and refuses to install because there is a table, but it does not have a value for any OEM license in it. I think I have two options: Either get rid of the SLIC table altogether. In that case, I understand, KMS activation should just work. Or get an SLIC table with a valid OEM entry in it. I assume this is an AMI Bios because the documents provided by ACER with their BIOS upgrades mention that. Also, the upgrades come with the AFU... exes. I have been trying to load both the bios provided by the manufacturer (P11-A3.CAP) or a dump generated with AFUwinx64 out.rom /O into AMITOOL. In the former case, it complains about "size not valid", and in the latter case, it gives me "Not AMI BIOS". Not sure what do do. Any help is appreciated!

    Thx...
