Wrong thread..Award has no 1B module...irregardless, I need a link to the bios..I just tested with A8R32-MVP Deluxe 0701 bios rev..
There really was a bug It was replacing the SLIC with OEMS and then not finding a SLIC table, duh! Andy
any help would be greatly appreciated. hi guys I've been struggling to mod my abit IC-7 G bios with Award SLIC mod tool, but it seems I can't. Some SLIC don't work, others are not compatible with the SLP files. At one point I managed to modify the bios, but when I tested it with a tool that verifys if 2.1 slics exists, I found on this forum (slictest.exe), it said "BIOS Slic (*bin) size mismatch! SLIC size should be 374 bytes. That's when using the bios file I modded with cbrom for adding the latest RAID bios for my mobo controller. Also I get in Award tool: "BIOS image dos not sum to 0" But if i use the original Abit , untouched bios with Award tool I get: "No space to insert module" I have almost all the slic and slp files I could find on this forum. What are the best slics to use with my mobo? I chose 0+2 methos in award tool. Thank you.
All slics on this forum for download work..no more to discuss. The SLP is a simple text file that allows the tool to insert the manufacturer string..no problem there. When you used cbrom to insert the module, did you test this (flash it and use) before the slic mod. You should mod one part at a time and test after each change. Upload images of the original bios and your modified raid bios and let me take a look. I think there are too many tools in this explanation. You do not need the slic test tool, you do not need to verify slic/cert. You only need to know what slic you insert to use the corresponding cert. I think somewhere in the attempts you are very confused with the various components and what they do. You need: The bios file to be modded The Slic.bin to be added. NOT and ISA.bin The cert to be added to the OS This is it. If you want to activate XP, maybe add an SLP string. If you dont use XP, do not mess with this. I would be happy to look at the various files for you if you provide links to downloads..
