Hi I have similar problem with tochill. I have tested on 2 Gigabyte BIOS - one old ( this works fine with ISA ) and one new. Using SSV3 on both if I push Verify it sais about a checksum error ( FF ) to the main BIN module.
@ Andy Just used your tool to mod the 1016 bios for ASUS A8N-SLI-d/l with a 2.1 SLIC table (the HP), installed cert. and key according to other thread. Win 7 activated as it should. I'm just a little bit concerned about this key, there is a lot of focus on it ftm and where does it originate from? Still think we should wait for real certs and keys later this year. But your tool rocks!
He is correct, I went ahead and flashed my motherboard and it worked perfectly. Windows 7 is running and activated.
I'm trying to use Award SLIC Mod 113 and I keep getting "Error 5 - The system can not find the specified file." when I load any BIOS. I tried it in XP and Windows 7 64 bit.
When do you get the error? After you have entered all the other fields? Are you working from the root? i.e. C:\
I cleared the CMOS with no results but reflashing with awdflash really helped(I used /cc/cp/cd keys instead). Anyway thank you very much for the direction of digging.
I even tried running from c:\ and I still get the error after I pick a BIOS to mod. I get "FAILED" under status and won't let me do anything.
Sounds like the issue may be the source File. Can you post a link to the bios, i can try to see if i can get it open.
Need help.... Trying to mod my Dell vostro 200 Bios with 1.12 and its say it have already slic 2.0 will its override with 2.1 for win7 ? also it show "invalid checksum (FF)" its ok? Thx!!!
