Just Click on The Cancel Button on that Pop up Window and then you can choose ISA or 0+2.
You may need to look at the SLIC Dump tool and use the SLIC.BIN (HPQOEM-MPC, -CPC, -BPC) that matches your existing RSDT though.

    Hi friend/s

I have a question. How do I get a log of the output of a successfull / Fail attempt at modding a BIOS using AwardTool.exe?

I have seen these logs posted on this webpage so I know it is do-able. I just do not know how.

A screenshot unfortunately only captures a few lines not the whole log.

Please ignore my request as I have just noticed the log tick box and managed to produce the log.

I am sorry if i am acting like a dumb noob but i didn't know if this topic went here or elsewhere but this appears to be the closest to my topic. I have a Compaq Presario sr2150nxthat the motherboard fried on. I bought a gigabyte GA-M68M-S2P with award bios. Will this tool help the OEM software recognize this as a Compaq computer for activation. I also cant boot into vista because the prior mobo was Intel this is now AMD but i think that's another question for another thread.

andyp - Thanks for the reply. In my hurry i missed the info refering this particular bios as a beta on Gigabytes site. I am reluctant to use a beta bios now.

    Hi,
    System, Vista64 Ultimate, MB Gigabyte GA-MA770-Ds3 v.1.

Followed every step but the only way I could make a valid slic Bios, by copying the current Bios to floppy
and modifying that. All the others from Gigabyte are only 512 bytes not 1024.
Installed the new bios and now my product ID changed to: Product ID 89587-OEM-7332132-00015 which is HP as I selected when making the Bios.

However when I try to activate by using a HP number I get the message:

    Windows activation error
    error code 0xC004E003
Software licencing service reported that licence evaluation failed.

What have I done wrong? Tried other numbers as well but when I put in a number for a
different version of Vista it will be rejected out of hand.

    Thanks

    Hi to all.
A few days ago I made a mod on my bios using AwardTool 1.34. My mobo is a Biostar TF-7050 M2.
As I was intending to insert slic 2.1 (Dell) i made the mistake to also choose it as manufacturer instead of "Other" as instructed.
So... I choose Dell wherever it was available. I made the new Bios file and then flash it to the Mobo (all other settings were left as default).
So far I didn't find any problem at all. Using Everest I see that Slic 2.1 was inserted and WIndows is working flawlessly.
I'm just wondering if I should reaply a new Bios using "Other" as manufacturer as I didn't follow the rules exactly.
I'm quite afraid of doing it againg as I know its a risquy process and my computer seems to be working perfectly.
Again I'm just asking cause I'm no expert at all and I don't know what's the implicance of choosing the correct "manufacturer".
    Thanks in advance!

    PS: Sorry for my English!

No need to do it again.
Dell and Other both use 0+2 as default Method.
