Awardtool - status bar showing failed - Resolved Ok guys i have had this problem as detailed above recently and have noticed this to duplicate on all my machines except for the xp desktop. This problem is now encounted on awardtool v1.45 to 1,51 on my machines using vista or window 7 ultimate. I have been pulling my hair out in trying to resolve this. I also visit MDL frequently and have not noticed anyone else with this issue, although i did read another user with this issue. Well finally after much testing i have resolved this and hope my findings will help others with the same problem. The awardtool most versions shows the above error message in the status on loading the bios file to be modded prior to entering any settings. This in my case is all resolved by ensuring that AVAST AV is permantly disabled (Not disabled for 10 min or one hour) while carrying the mod using the awardtool. The xp machine does not use Avast but i installed avast to test that this was the cause of my problems. Once installed this also gave me this problem. So if you encounter this same issue remember you have to disable the avast AV whilst carrying out your mod. You may need to re-boot so avast does not effect the awardtool. Once you have done your mod dont forget to re-enable Avast. I hope my post will be helpful to others with similar problems. The awardtool now works great - Many thanks again to andyp and all of you that have contributed in this great project
tried to mod bios for Gigabyte mobo G1.sniper but got error6 - "arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow" , tried all variations ssv3, 0+2, facs etc with oemx set to different numbers but still the same error, didnt try anything else as i'm not sure of what i am doing so just changed oemx and the method ? any ideas anyone. (had no problem with G1.assassin mobo, had to use oemx set to 4 , method 0+2), (trying to insert slic 2.1).
Found the problem. New version soon. v1.52 Out Also auto-selects OEMx module if OEM7 not available Andy
