Funny. For the first time ever, I have run into this problem without resolution. Here is the twist. Both machines are setup almost identical. Different AMD CPUs and mobo but same chipsets. Othwerwise, all the same...Win 7 Pro 64bit OS, same amount and type of RAM, same software, same exact A/V - Norton Internet Security 2012.

On machine "A" (the problem child) this and older versions of AWARD tool will not run. I get message same as above - FAILED. Phoenix and AMI tools run just fine. Of course, I use Run As Admin, completely shut off A/V permanently and rebooted. Also, the tools and other similar items are ina folder called SAFE, which is completely excluded from all A/V scans and protections so they won't be stopped or quarantined. Still it will not work. NOPE!!!! Ironically, this is the machine I have always used in the past without a single problem! Suddenly, it won't work!!! LOL

On Machine "B" everything runs fine and I was able to mod a BIOS file. On this machine though, it did not matter if Norton was enabled or disabled. It just ran fine.

Now, I also have a junky old laptop running XP without any security at all that I could use in emergency. So I don't need help really...but I figure this must be an issue still or for someone in the future and just out of my quirky need to fix things - I want asolution. Maybe this is still important for AndyP to know. I just felt I should post it here and share and see if someone smarter than me (not hard to find...lol) had a proper solution! lol

It is better to use a flash with the parameter
    Code:
    flashspi slic.xyz /C /D /E

Try it with flashspi AND flashspi /C /D /E, same result as qflash, still noluck!

Just for my understanding, why flashspi will made any different, qflash work with the Original F13?

No one of known methods do not work correctly with this bios. Try the mod from killergd00 from bios.net.cn forum (made via experimental method)

    This mod does work!
    1) Flash with flashspi from DOS
    2) reboot - BISO set to "Load Optimize Defaults"
    3) From Win7 - Uninstall pk and install Dell pk & cert
    4) rearm window

    All done.

Overclock from 2.66 to 3.00 without any problem.

Hirachi PriusAirOne PCF-AW33N : custom motherboard

The machine's model name is Hitachi PriusAirOne PCF-AW33N. As far as I checked the motherboard is a customized one hence couldn't find BIOS at Hitachi's website.o_O
