Looking at the example of the GB MA78GD3H F4 BIOS - I think 911medic does an OEM7 mod with EPA at end in these circumstances - I think??? (which the tool can do) Andy
Forgive my ignorance but I have no clue of what a vista sticky is about....why can't someone just give working links to my question....I still cannot find AMI tool version 1.17 and Award version 1.04 links....where are they please. I only find older versions that are full of viruses and malware.
New AMI BIOS tool for performing SSV2/3 and Dynamic SLIC Modification and New Award BIOS tool for performing SLIC Insertion/Modification at the TOP of this forum!
Thanks again Andy, I really appreciate your hard work on both the Award and AMI tools. You've made it very easy for us non-programmers, lol. I've seen Gigabyte bioses that basically have very little space left to add anything so you weren't able to do even an ISA mod, I think your tool tries to compress certain files to create more space, right?
Yeah. For SSV3 we 'compress' the EPA image bitmap by blacking it.... and using the space for the enlarged main module with the SLIC. OEM7 with black EPA is similar but uses a nocompress module for the SLIC. Removing a microcode entry is a newer option that has been handy on a few occasions (and the tool can do this as well!). Andy
hi andy, i'v tried the award tools with my gigabyte p35 ds4 rev2.1 f14c bios,i use ssv3(the recommanded for gigabyte)and the default setting, the result bios can be flashed into the mainboard and work fine. and the bios can activate my vista as well, but there is a small problem that the post screen's energy star logo went away.i dont know if there is something wrong with the setting or it is the program's bug.i'm a chinese, sorry for my lousy english. waiting for your reply
Hi That's how the SSV3 method works. It blacks out the EPA logo to make space. Entirely expected and nothing to worry about! Andy
New version v1.06 ADD: Ability to do SSV3 with EPA module at end FIX: In rare cases the last byte of a module might be damaged FIX: Sometimes OEM7 is not possible but loops infinitly Andy
I think on newer bios, the acpitbl should stay before the oem7. Before the sensible modules, a few were done like you suggest, but I think it would be best not to any more..
