Its not even the bloatware for me. I buy a laptop for its specs and then start from scratch just because I like controlling all of the variables.
The clean OS is very nice. Also, I love to experiment. Been so busy the last few days. I sent my new laptop back. Still waiting to hear what issues the return might create. That new machine had some issues that were total deal breakers, to me. I will get a new Win10 machine, so what I am learning here is important. Because I have a perfectly performing Win7 system OS, I tried to clone it to a new and larger HDD, not even a SSD. Did this a couple days ago. No good. Macrium Reflect kept reporting a read error on the "C" drive and auto terminated the clone. Skipped to cloning the "D" drive/partition, and everything worked great. So, as I said, I have been busy on all my computer projects. I'll figure something out.. Note, sent this post via my Win7 machine.
These were all related to the keyboard and the back lighting of the keyboard. On the plus side, it had 32gb and 1tb of storage and a nice AMD processor. But the keyboard was more suited to a gamer and not someone doing word processing productivity tasks. The KB had an odd font style, blocky. The letters O and D, and A and R looked identical. It felt difficult to focus on the keys in dim conditions with the light bleeding from below the key caps, which, I guess, contributed to the gamer visual experience. Used it, the HP Omen, for a couple hours then boxed it up, returned it via UPS carrier the next day. Waiting to hear the the 3rd party Amazon seller.
The Omen series is made and targeted specifically for gamers. I looked at a few but the keyboards were a non starter for me. Same goes with all the neon they put in Gamer desktops.
Yes, and as I said, I boxed it up and returned it. Now, anxiously waiting for a response. I returned it 12.23.20. As you said, the keyboard was a non-starter, and, for me too, but any advertisements never showed a clean photo of the keyboard or how it displayed with the back lighting, for my purposes.
