As long as the pump on the H100i is running and the block attached to the CPU, don't worry about the radiator fans for just a few seconds test, the water will be enough to keep it cool long enough to see if it is going to power up or not
ok have got power ! rigged up outside of the case shorted the pwr pins on the board and fans all started turning !! however no video output to monitor no post beeb ? should there be one ?
however that leaves me with 2 faults 1.wont work in the case ( wont power on ) ?? 2.is the big pci graphics card defective ? I will try some more tests it doesnt help not having the correct video output socket for this card am using a dvi to vga adaptor maybe this is affecting video output ?
ok here is a update after testing seem to still have 2 faulty components ? if I now put the board back into the case I can get power and video output ( with other graphics card not the original ) yes there are standoffs in the corsair case however I still need to use the screw driver to start it up by touching the power pins on the board so all I can conclude is either the little cable that goes to pwr switch or main power switch itself are faulty ? The original asus gtx 1060 graphics card ? I have the 8 pin pci power attached to it the fans move but no video output ?
will get some pics over tomorrow guys if that helps ? thanks for all your help so far making progress sort of thank you
are you refering mr magic to a possible solution for this particular graphics card not working with this board ?
On another note, check the I/O plate in the back to make sure none of those little "fingers" on the I/O plate are shorting out inside the usb ports
ok eventually found out its the power button on the corsair case if I use the reset switch cable and put it onto the power switch pins on the board it powers up if I use the reset button instead of the power button !! Poor for a corsair case !! Still unable to get the Graphics card to output any signal maybe its faulty ? my lesser spec 1GB card working fine ?
thanks yes its the only issue now ( except that power button ! ) GPU ASUS GTX 1060 Hdmi output ok no dvi output
If this is a new case, contact Corsair and see if they'll give you a new button. You probably could RMA the case but it'll cost you to ship it back, I would check the wiring and see if it's cut or broken somewhere between the switch and the board. I haven't seen too many of those buttons go bad. I have a 500R which is very identical to the 400R and you can switch the reset button and start buttons around on the case frame, both buttons do the same type of function
Hi thanks for the info The buttons dont look very accessible ? I have attached the reset cable to the pwr pins so am now switching on via the reset button on the front top panel. its not ideal but works fine
If you're connecting it to a VGA LCD with an adapter, then make sure the DVI port is DVI-I otherwise with DVI-D it only outputs digital, not the combined analog/digital of DVI-I that the VGA LCD requires
