Hello guys. I just wanted to include this personal tip for posterity: First of all, the PSU should have been diagnosed, previous to unmounting anything. Just disconnect it from the MoBo, leave it connected to the wall outlet, then locate pin number 16 (green wire) on the 24-pin atx connector. By using a paper clip (metal) try and bridge this pin (green wire) to any of the nearby black-wire pins in the connector. (ie: Green 16 with Black pins number 3 or 5 or 7 or 15 or 17 or 18 or 19). A good PSU will turn on its fan. Some of them not turning on would perhaps require you to disconnect it from the wall mains, then giggle a little bit with the voltage selector on the back of the PSU, then reconnect it to AC and try to turn it on with the jumping procedure stated above. IF the PSU is not yet powering up, please note that all o them carry an internal replaceable fuse. But for this you would require some technical knowledge as it involves removing the cover, ground yourself, find the fuse without shortening the capacitors, etc. For further reference: h t t p s : //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATX Merry Christmas, guys, and sorry for the long post, sorry I don't have no potatoes
Hi Joe alas the case is a Corsair Carbide Series 400C totally different panel and doesnt even look as if its removable thanks anyway
first thing i would do is connect another working Power Supply to make sure is not the one u have is working...if that doesnt work make sure the mother is not making contact with anything that is causing a short....good luck
You can try that, just to make sure that the problem does not exist elsewhere. If you have a multimeter, you can measure and see if the switch shows continuity when you press it.
