New SSD installation,

    Hey Guys,

    I have the motherboard ASRock 960GM/U3S3 FX and just got my new SSD hard drive,
    Now Im wondering is this just plug and play or is there any tips for installation to help it run as fast as possible.
    I have a regular sata 1.5 that will hold my media and some programs but windows will be on the SSD.

    My Samsung 830 came with their SSD Magician software, which disables superfetch, disables disk defragmenter, turns off readyboost, and turns off the indexing service.

    Either to reduce writes to the SSD or because the performance of the SSD makes them unnecessary.

    I started using Defraggler portable for my regular HD, which warns you if you try to defrag an SSD. There will probably be a few other ideas that pop up tho.

    Make sure you've got your sata set for ahci & not ide (in the bios).
