Hrmmmmmfffft.... I guess I must have scared him off? Maybe he figured it out finally? Well buddy, I don't know what happened to you, but I need to pay my rent today, and get something to eat, so I will be back in a little bit. I'll check this thread when I get back and see what is up, and proceed accordingly if you have returned...
Definitely does not work on Dell Latitude C610 (I know, old, but was just testing) SLIC is not emulated! Maybe it is sth to do with Dell BIOSes? Original Hazar seems to work OK, but gives ALL sorts of random programs crashes (which all go away after return to 30-day trial with default key) SLIC is emulated So I suspect that it is something with how Dell BIOS "exists" in memory sebus
Maybe so, that is why I was having murderer do it manually... If it still does not work that way, then there is an issue with Dells and gldr... Maybe try the newest version of WoW, as it would have an updated version of gldr (which would not work with Hazar's lo*der...you would have to remove it <if installed> and then try to install the WoW one...but that one seems to have less satisfactory results, which is completely understandable, as it is still an ongoing development...)
I done my totally manually (both install & uninstall) of both Hazar & Wow 7.0.1a I am using the wow from 1st post (it it the latest I believe) grldr definitely starts & then loads Win7, but SLIC does not get emulated, hence no activation sebus
Weak. I am sorry to hear that. I am running on a HP laptop at the moment. The method I described previously worked perfectly, the first time. Been activated for a couple days now. No problems at all, just a ~1 to ~1.5 second delay, at the most, when grldr loads up the SLIC 2.1 tables prior to Windows booting...
I wanted to do that. Make wow7 completely silent. But it is not simple. Grub does not offer an option to make it completely silent. I would have to edit grub's source code, remove all the printfs and then rebuild it.
Thanks for your prompt response. Yeah, my laptop already has slic 2.0. During the boot I cannot see anything from grub cause my laptop show the HP logo and it is not possible to switch that off like in other BIOS. Anyway I do not understand why it works on my other two laptops, and none of the loaders work on this. Do the SSD disk affect to the grub? thanks.
You could also close your eyes, or look away for 2 seconds...get a cup of coffee...take a crap...feed the dog/cat/iguana...fold a lovely paper airplane... I would just be happy that lo*der works for you, as there are many who have problems and cannot get it to work... EDIT: May I suggest a square, black piece of construction paper and scotch tape? j/k lol.
If you see grub running and still get no slic 2.1, it means it got installed properly, but wow couldn't patch your slic.
Hmmm sounds complex... so have you done it yet? Just kidding, it's working so I guess I can live with it like that. thanks for the reply. @HotCarl - scotch tape why didn't I think of that doh! LOL
The HP logo should hide the boot process only. Grub runs after boot (twice). It is already an os running (win98 dos mode). The logo should not hide an os showing some text. My guess is that you still did not install it properly. Wow should work if your system already has slic 2.0. Try using your win7 install cd to run that recovery command prompt. Try installing from there. Maybe something is preventing the boot record from being updated.
LOL!!! Or you could try a permanent marker. j/k. ROTFL... I cr@ck my self up sometimes... Its all in good fun. Congrats on getting the lo*der working in the first place though...
