Sorry I got a phone call from my friend in MS Greenland, he told me RTM is 9200.

edit : actually he was saying there were 9200 penguins around the labs... my mistake :D
edit2 : I don't see any reason thinking 9200 will be RTM, and 8888 won't be RTM... the same in the other way.
    We'll see in 1 week.

You are right when you say nothing is 100% confirmed(in winunleaked), so it's a fight between Taiwan and NewZealand, none of our business.

btw, when will you change your avatar with that hungry starring cat? Or at least feed him with a fish or a mouse, be a good master. :aglerks:

Jay: canouna is coming in for a chit-chat, because if he does that in WinUnleaked he might get a 3-day warning. :blahblah1:

    Good nite. :sleep2:

Honestly, 9200 make more sense than 8888. Not saying it's correct though! It makes sense when you consider service packs. RTM is Service Pack 0 (effectively), so 9200. Service Pack 1 will therefore be 9201.

    If you start with 8888, that numbering system doesn't work. Its just like Windows Vista 6000 --> 6001 --> 6002, and Windows 7 7600 --> 7601.

Since Windows 7 RTM was initially 6.1.7600.16384, it seems likely Windows 8 will be 6.2.9200.16384. Windows 7 was last minute changed 6.1.7600.16385. If Windows 8 needs last minute changes it will change to 6.2.9200.16385 most likely. This is of course personal speculation, but 8888 just does not make sense.

That would also have the potential for kms activation.

Does anyone know if W8 will support more filesystems than W7 natively?
Ext4 for example would be awesome. But that might be too much to ask.

Just to answer the KMS question. Both Pro AND Enterprise will be able to accept KMS keys, and thus will likely be able to be used with a new KMS emulator to "activate" it.

    Just saying...

There is one bad thing, if MS sticks with the "multiple of 16 and 100" rule, win9 could start from 9216(or later no.) and has to RTM on 9600; even if they fix the QFE restrictions in win9 period, it just gives them 400 build numbers more.

btw, a full nite has passed ans still no sign-off? LOOOOL.:swoon:

A software will be available for download in VLSC in about 3 working days after the keys are available, so if it is the same with win8RTM this time, it should be RTM in this 1 or 2 days. ;)

Few days to learn Chinese. :p

I think that 9200 is just the real RTM and not a candidate because everything got silent now for 3 days on any new builds.
