Since 8888 excludes the possibility of Service Pack numbering like I said earlier, for all we know it could be a final build test number. Of course, with the final build they are going to build and test it first, so it's possible that a build of 8888 is 'a final build' technically, but officially 9200 will be the 'set in stone' final. It sounds like nobody really knows currently, maybe the guys and gals' at Microsoft are unsure themselves! Who actually determines the final build string? I know there is a basic system they follow. It could be 8888 follows that system, 9200 doesn't, or whatever, but like I said earlier 8888 does not follow the Service Pack numbering system they have been using for the last couple of releases so that seems unlikely to me.

As things are going I dont think anybody including canouna and wzor would be able to confirm final build number than microsoft. Anywayz we should expect the RTM build number this week according to Microsoft. :aglerks:

    It's between 8887 and 9201, and not between 8889 and 9199.

No, it's either 8888 either 9200... According to all sources about Windows 8 on the Internet.

I think 9200. Makes more sense since Vista is 6000. Windows 7 is 7600 so if you follow the pattern then Windows 8 is 9200.

Also am I sure to install RTM once it leaked and will I go use the Metro part more for music and mail which I do now partly. Also saying then goodbye to the good old VMware and welcoming Hyper-V. :) Same for Apache to IIS.
