It completly removes the Start Orb, i used this when i tested the WDP as the "Start Orb" was useless as lowering your mouse cursor would show the Metro "Start" menu where with a click switched you to Metro.. pretty much the same as the Start Orb just some pixels more space and you don't have a extra Button that does the same thing like the Charms bar. On beta this appears to have changed so you no longer gets this Charms menu instead you get a Startscreen preview which with a click takes you there (?) It's a good change (no start button), but im not to sure about the other changes in Beta let's see how it plays out.
yes,for us that are "tech guys".But don't forget the masses. If you ask any average user about the orb that is gone will probably say "that is not windows". Also true: the orb on WDP was annoying... I don't like the ideea to click on more stuff just to get to the same result that was before. Like I already said,Win8 is great for tablets, but for PC's there is a problem between what is good and what is not. Good part: faster boot, all those new file options, and the optimization they did Bad part: the orb is gone, getting used to go to the right part of the screen instead of left-down will be hard Also I hate the start screen, big tiles so you can use your fingers...hate it. I'm gonna use win8 just because I am a gamer/becoming developer and I really care about performance, but an average user will probably stick to win7
Now the arguments have stopped, can I ask a legitimate question? How big is build 8220? 3GB? Also is there a new beta for Visual Studio for the Windows Preview?
That website? It's a page on Windows.com about the Developer Preview. There's nothing new on it. In DP, the Store said "Coming Soon". In every other build, the Store said "Check your internet connection". In CP, it says "We'll let you in soon". The question is, how soon? I'm getting tired of waiting...
Seems many people has got 8220, hopefully one of these guys would get itchy and upload it. btw, just a reminder: canouna has mentioned that he welcomes anybody with 8220 to PM him and compare hashes to make sure they are identical.
lol thats funny, so NOW we know where did they get that freakin' ugly fish. Is that fish real?... Or is it?
He probably means the file hash/checksum. that way they can be sure that there is no hash in that build.
