I'm pretty sure that it'll be reinstall only, probably with the option to upgrade from the developer preview to keep files and settings.

Well it's pre-release software

 

I think you can do an upgrade...

It worked with all the leaks from Windows 7.

Just extract ISO, run setup and it will install (faster than by burning DVD and install from DVD)


But maybe W8 is different, but I doubt

 

There was a method to upgrade from pre-release Windows 7 builds but I tried to upgrde my 7601 using the method to 8102 but didn't work.

 

Correct. 7601 is W7SP1. An upgrade from 8102 to 8220 should be possible
