One thing is the presentation in Barcelona, and another is the release on web (I think so) -- Question: AeroLite is a bug or is intended? Because when I open the WindowsAnytiemUpgradeResults on win7 with Windows Basic, the Aero gets enabled.
Windows 8 Server. You *could* run it as an overgrown workstation/desktop (especially since the Hyper-V support it includes does NOT require SLAT/EPT as Windows 8 *client* does) and that it includes PowerShell as standard (again, while Windows 8 client supports it, it does not include it), but isn't running *any* server OS as an overgrown workstation (yes - that includes most Linux distributions) a bit much?
Never used it, nor any desire too, so count me out of the "who is pissed that Windows Live Sync is not integrated into Windows 8" category.
That's OK, its how I feel about MS finding time to add Ribbon to explorer but says adding tabs would be too complex
tabs are kinda useless, if tabs were something useful i would keep using xplorer2 (which even has a lite version) or XYplorer. ribbon for me is "better" though because i can minimize it and then use quick Access toolbar, so that means more space for doing something i use mostly keyboard shortcuts and right click anyway.
It's a bug, not intended and really old, the only reason it works on Windows 8 (giving Transparency to Basic) is cause they pretty much got rid of the Basic thing and are now using the same Aero rendering for Basic.
My question is: How intrusive is not using tabs in xplorer2? See what I mean, it doesn't seem like a reason in itself to not use it. For me, I don't use third-party file browsers cuz the lack of integration, but I do find tabs useful in the form of WindowTabs or QTTabs because it integrates seamlessly. I just wish MS had this feature OOTB, so that it was less buggy than QTTabs.
I would like to see Microsoft add tabs to Windows Explorer so that I don't need to use XYplorer, Xplorer2, etc. I often have two or three Windows Explorer windows open. I own a XYplorer license and it works pretty well, but I would still rather see the tabs functionality implemented directly into Windows Explorer, a good implementation at that.
What an absolute joke!!!! Is this what the Media Center team has done since Win7? They should just scrap Windows MCE and separate into individual METRO-FIED Apps with Live Tiles (e.g. LiveTV / RecordedTV / EPG Guide). Either that, or add the LiveTV Tuner Service(s) to the Xbox Media Center Hub.
