The 'Windows Communication' application in the Windows Store has only 2.2 out of 5 stars.. The Bing maps application 5/5 stars, the camera app 4/5 stars.
I cannot believe it came to that... entertaining for the most part... now back to windows 8. @canouna are there any particularly awesome apps you can tells about... Productivity wise?
Interesting info from the latest Building 8 blog post: - Steven Sinofsky wrote "Windows File Explorer". Two times! So its no mistake. I'm sure they will rename it. - Windows on ARM (=WOA) will not be called "Windows 8". They said it is based on Windows 8 and shares a lot of code but it is a new "member of the Windows family" like Windows Phone. I guess they will call it something like "Windows Metro" 8.0 - Why did they hide the title bar from Office 15 apps with a black bar? Any ideas?
Might show a confidential design decision, cause as you can see the Ribbon is "solid" and no longer has this effect you see on Office 2010 which was Transparent with a texture, they might completely scrap the transparent title bar in fullscreen on office as it just distracts.
Not very creative, but keeps everything in a nice neat order. How would one figure out if Vista came before or after XP if one didn't already know?
winver.exe But seriously, they should also add an -alphabetical- name with the numeric name, like Ubuntu or OS X.
They just have to name Windows 8, Windows 8 and the next version 9.. and the next 10..good enough, higher number equals better on software
Well, they showed the names of the apps when they launched them from Start screen. I was thinking what if they may kill the title bar on ARM? Think about it. Maybe Office 15 apps on ARM are full screen only? You can minimize them by clicking the Taskbar button again... It is not very useful on a small tablet to have desktop windows side-by-side and maybe a Metro app snapped to the side BTW, I love how the Ribbon looks in these Office apps! They should use this design on the Windows (File) Explorer Ribbon. And the zoom slider in the status bar would be useful for Explorer as well. There is no way to zoom now without using shortcuts.
